Need help to learn more on growth in Instagram

Me and my wife run a page,she is a PhD in child development and doing workshops and taking child counselling sessions
We have a pool base of about 45k followers presently(it's been an year), all organic and 100% devoted to same niche/gender and age group,with a lot of genuine followers in there, majorlly for the rich content we provide.
All the followers done till now have been through shear grinding up with genuine content,lives and insta ads. We aren't much of techies,so trying to learn the art of pushing this page further through more avenues and monetisation of the page in itself,how could it be done.
Would be glad to hear from you guys,have read a lot of success stories in here presently
Spending money on the same won't ever be an issue,till the reach is all genuine. We don't wanna push our followers with cheap stuff
P.S. We are already into planning of opening an ecom store related to kids/babies products soon

For Growth, keep doing what you're. 45K is a pretty awesome number. You may also reach out to pages in your niche for promotions.

You get organic followers by posting consistently, good quality content that hit explore. If you can make good video content, post as reels that'll really help. IMO for organic growth, the more you post quality content frequently the higher the growth.
Also, in my opinion, shoutouts > insta ads. Take this with a grain of salt though as all my niches grow with content only and I haven't had to test between these two. Based on opinions I've heard, though, shoutouts can be quite cheaper and just as or if not more effective.

By checking engagement, I meant for people who would do shootouts. What's the criteria to check the engagement rate for a page with whom I would discuss a shootout and what's a good no. Ours is business account itself. We did run campaign for a brand/product lately worth about 350$ and did help them sell about 10k$ worth of stuff, for a nice share to us. I can run business pretty well but online market is something I don't have much expertise is why I am here. Her work is good but I don't think she is giving herself a genuine return for the hardwork she has been putting in,So kinda trying to help her grow.

We have had a lot of brands messaging us for giveaways lately,but we heard somewhere it reduces your engagment rate is why we never tried that.

It really depends on how you do it, the biggest of the brands there do it- GoPro, LG, Samsung and countless others, just plan and execute it right and all you would see is thousands of new followers!

Already into pure high quality content based page with clearly demarcated audience of our niche, Have been using the insta ads itself as of yet.

For Mother Slave,Getting a high quality provider will be your first challenge.

For shoutouts related to your page - Make a dummy account,Follow your main account and look the suggestions that are shown after following.No doubt but these are the high quality accounts that Instagram wants to promote related to your niche via showing in the suggestions.

About fake followers and likes,There is a tool named HypeAuditor,A good engagement rate depends on the size of the account but the bigger accounts should always have between 2-10% in average.
