Why is the follow/unfollow method unsafe?

Just some background info: started a page a couple days ago and on top of hashtags, I've been utilizing f/uf to get users to see my content. I'm sitting at 73 followers and 1000 following, with 10 posts, likes ranging from 20-40. My engagement rate is 39%.

I manually targeted people that liked posts in my specific niche, aswell as a few other parameters, and so far I got a 7.3% follow back rate. This isn't that good, but all of the followers are real, super-targeted, and active; which is my biggest concern.

So far, it doesn't seem that instagram has done much to punish me. The worst is that I wasn't able to look at my following list, but it returned to normal after an hour. Does this mean I'm okay to continue following/unfollowing at my current rate?

Also, I've heard people mention that f/uf affects your organic growth; can someone explain what this means? Is the concern the fact that you're just gathering ghost followers? Or does the act of following/unfollowing actually make your posts less valuable to the algorithm?

If you've followed 1000 people in a couple of days, it's just a matter of time you'll be action blocked. Just because it's working in your favour temporarily doesn't mean your actions are not getting recorded.

If you have a project like Instagram, you will kick off the user who just consumes the service without benefit. Your bot accounts or your follow/unfollow method will only use Instagram resources. Although there is an ads strategy for growth, you are using a third-party solution. So, Instagram does not care about your account and then they start to block or add these accounts to the blacklist.

This is why it is not safe to move on for business.

What's considered safe nowadays? I saw 1 post saying 50 actions per hour is safe, but another said start at 50 per day and gradually build up to 200 per day.

your best bet is to slow down now and keep following far less,
1k a day is a big number and you could easily get caught with it

200 per day is the safe speed. always make sure warm up your account in the beginning by going very less action, say 50 actions per day.

Only reason it's "unsafe" is if you get flagged the account gets flagged forever as well.

Which means less organic reach (probably what they mean by organic growth).

Obviously if you never get caught, then nothing happens, it's just like organic growth.

Follow-Unfollow Method is safe but when combined with likes and comments together.

As others have said, it's only unsafe if you do it the wrong way.

If you haven't normally followed a lot of people, start at 5 follows at a time, no more than 20 per hour, no more than 80 per day. Then every day increase the number of follows at a time by 1, so you can do 6 at a time, then 7, then 8. The most you want to do at one time is 20 at a time, 60 per hour. Even if you have a well established account there's a chance you'll run into problems at that time unless you have 100,000k or more followers.
