Difference between youtube channel and email

I have an old email with which i can sign in to youtube and have an old youtube channel on there. If I create a new channel on that email, does that mean that my new channel is an old channel?

I guess with all this talk of old vs new youtube account is it the email or the channel?

Also, was this thing of having multiple channels on one account always a thing? or is this in the last few years it started

No, it will be still new channel, you can see the account created on date if you go to about section in youtube.
If possible try to change the old channels name and use it

aw dangit, I cant do that since that is a personal organically growing account even though I have abandoned it for now lol.

When I buy an old account, what things do I need to know? I mean, if I buy an '06 account or something is just the email and the recovery email enough. No one will evver like steal it right?

YouTube channel and email are two different things, where you using your old email to sign up for new YouTube channel. So YouTube channel is new
