Gary Vaynerchuk. Watch him.

Dunno, dunno.
Does Gary have actually own business success story? Anything that can be used as a case study.
I would like to look through what he has done as CEO/Product manager.

I don't get what everyones problem with him is.

He literally speaks the most effective truths.

Don't put out content all day every day? Your not guna grow.

You think negatively? You won't grow.

You don't jump on new trends like tiktok? Your forever in the shadow of the winners.

You dream instead of going? Have fun building nothing.

You all might think it's simple basic stuff, but how many of you write questions on why this or that isn't working, when you most likely don't follow those rules.
Because the quantity doesn't matter.
What matters is what you do with what you have.

That's why I just made the argument that someone starting with money doesn't make them impressive, and it certainly doesn't mean they have the wisdom to advise others.
People who BUILD million dollar businesses don't tend to destroy themselves overnight, but people who raise venture capital, and have no experience, tend to make really stupid business decisions, which is why you seem to think all these businesses are failing.

It doesn't take a genius to NOT over-extend yourself, unless you're greedy, I guess.
The competition is also not that significant, in many fields, when I can walk through a store, and spot tons of items that are poorly designed.

Every time I shop for something, I have to shift through a sea of garbage to find something decent.
I can talk to you about the features and benefits of audio ear buds, and how most of the products on the market are trash.

I bought the statistically best pair of this product, a few months back, and they died within a month.
I can talk to you about tablets, about software, about literally hundreds of products where there is a lot of money and competition, but that doesn't mean you can't be competitive, simply by looking at what is out-there, and doing it in a better way, or some way that solves a significant pain point.

Figuring-out how to do something better is not that difficult.
When you have no capital, though, it can take some time to get there, and so it's a lot easier to do if you have some money to work with.

Part of being a Marketing Consultant is being able to take successful businesses, and apply basic marketing principles to increase their profitability.
It doesn't impress me that it took Gary Vee 10yrs+ to increase the profitability and success of his family's business.

By ratio, tons of regular guys are doing that everyday, here on BHW, and with far less.
He doesn't give advice as a guy who is building a business from nothing, and that's why I think he is being disingenuous.

Some of the stuff he teaches is also ridiculous, and impractical.
Being successful with your business isn't a matter of mental gymnastics.

I don't think he's adapted very well, at all, if it's taken him another 20yrs to double his net worth.
Makes me wonder what he's been doing during the biggest tech boom in history.

You're telling me that in the year 2000, with a $60mil business, and its liquidity, you aren't able to multiply that value?
Why wasn't he buying domain names, or bitcoin, or hopping on the SEO train, etc?

Actually, if you look it up, he did some "Angel Investing" into Facebook and Twitter, and that's mainly how he made his money. ZZZzzz...
Wow! What a genius! (him and every middle school kid back in the early 2000's)

Nah... unfollowing this thread...
Best to you...

Right, I mean I can't convince someone who thinks growing a multi million dollar business into a billion dollar business is easy. Your mindset is set in stone I think.

Good luck to you bud.

Not too sure, he took his $3 million wine business to $60 million in 5 years,

He then started up vaynermedia which grossed $100 million in revenue in 2016, specifically targeting fortune 500 companies

At the end of the day, Gary get's huge business people like the CEO of mastercard every single day. That means Gary is credible in the eyes of the big players whether you like it or not. I listen to Jordan too.

Journalists meet huge business people, this doesn't mean that each of them is credible, has nothing to do with my liking.

At the end of the day, it's the advice you want, and you have no idea if that advice is credible or not. So you have to judge by the persons wealth, the people around them, their fans, and then you decide.

No, it's not the advice I want. I do have an idea of its credibility, and I prefer Jordan who has way less wealth, but way more educated and better in life. The fact that he has less wealth doesn't mean he is less credible, wealth is simply not his goal, and the accumulated wealth that he has is pretty impressive for a teacher/professor. That is credible for me.

For example all these SEO gurus, you know they are fake af because they can't even get one big guest on their videos. Simply because the big players know they are a joke. No big player in the business world will associate themselves with a joke, because it's bad publicity to the investors.

So...if they don't invite any guests, and just share knowledge and experience, they're not credible? I don't believe it works like that.

I don't think you know what underpaid means.

It has nothing to do with what anyone agreed to, and it doesn't mean that one has to be a slave.

Cambridge defines it as: "paid too little for the work you do"

I.e it could be a subjective thing. But I think most people would agree on some obvious cases where someone is underpaid.

There is a definition of illusion, that's right.

Right so your saying if pewdiepie invited CEO of master card on his show, you think the CEO would join? No because pewdiepie does not have business experience. It's about credibility and publicity together. But again it's a judgement call so i'm not saying this applies across the board.

I'm simply saying a guy who can setup meeting on a daily basis with people that huge, is someone credible.

I'm actually curious if you've listened to the actual business education Gary has given rather than his motivational speeches? Because it baffles me how you can shoot him down like that.

And no, but you know what, I never once said I only base credibility on guests, you are twisting my words or not actually reading my replies. You should reread them all.

Brother. I urge you not to follow / worship / seek motivation and inspiration from the likes of Gary V, Grant Cardone, Tai Lopez etc. It's like cocaine - the imitation of the real thing. These guys are like commentators in the sport of boxing / MMA. If you want to win the game, study the boxers, not the commentators.

Please do not take this post the wrong way. I'm not trying to troll you. But for many years I've followed these guys. Their content is like cocaine - it gives you a temporary high, but nothing that will benefit you in the long run. They are either doing this to sell courses (Grant and Tai Lopez) or just doing it to feed their ego (the ones who do not need to sell courses, cuz they've made their fortunes already, but missed out on the clout and respect during their journey, so they become speakers / commentators / lecturers / podcast organisers etc).

I was like you till a year ago. But the major breakthrough in my mindset and career happened just last year when I completely gave up following these guys.

I urge you to experiment something. Watch the full Ycombinator winter 2020 videos on Youtube. Listen to Naval Ravikant's podcast "How to make money" and read the last 100 tweets of Nassim Nicholas Taleb. The combination of these three will make you smarter than the guys you are currently following.

dude,
regarding your last paragraph, what are the other channels, books, people that need to be followed?

After Cardi B interviewed Joe Biden - I can believe anything, including pewdiepie and mastercard. I'm aslo sure mastercard would benefit a lot from such collaboration and their sales will go up. But, I don't even know who's ceo of mastercard, nor I ever watched pewdiepie.

I'm simply saying a guy who can setup meeting on a daily basis with people that huge, is someone credible.

Not saying he's not, just not to me.

I'm actually curious if you've listened to the actual business education Gary has given rather than his motivational speeches? Because it baffles me how you can shoot him down like that.

It baffles you because my opinion doesn't match yours? I didn't listen as I don't like him. I tried to, but it's not my cup of tea, that's a matter of preference, doesn't mean he's a bad guy or gives bad advice. It's just not applicable to me.

And no, but you know what, I never once said I only base credibility on guests, you are twisting my words or not actually reading my replies. You should reread them all.

That's what I understood from your replies - 'if you get CEO guests - you're credible'. That's fine with me.

Just got this in my inbox coincidentally enough.. Would've expected more from the CEO of Mastercard. There are shittonnes of unbanked people that have used BTC over the last 12 years when the mainstream financial system let them down.. and BTC doesn't go 10x in 24 hours, just a slight over-exaggeration.

Guess in MastercardWorld that makes sense.

Well he is correct, BTC is too unstable to use as a regular currency. You can't make long term plans when using BTC as you can with a normal stable currency.

If I am planning to buy a $80,000 car next month, I know that with $80,000 I will still be able to buy it. However if I have 5.91 BTC, I don't know if I will be able to afford it or not.

Yepp been watching him for quite sometime and he is really amazing motivator.

Just to add to that. In the guest interview with Gary, the CEO of Mastercard says they have patents for blockchain related things because they want to embrace it since it's becoming big.

They want to give customers what they want.

I welcome that.

I actually didnt mean to copy your video in a reply again it was by accident, I guess it copied it from the other guy quoting my previous quote or something

dude,
regarding your last paragraph, what are the other channels, books, people that need to be followed?

Do one thing. Unfollow / Unsubscribe everyone you have on your Twitter / Instagram / YouTube. Then follow the following people everywhere first:

Dr.Jordan Peterson
Naval Ravikant
Kunal Shah
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev
Nassim Nicholas Taleb
Peter Theil
Web Smith
Seth Godin

Gradually YouTube / Instagram / Twitter will start showing you similar people and content. You'll notice the change in your mindset in 3 months. You'd be in a better place mentally and financially too than where you are right now when you consume content from the below sources:

YouTube Channels you can learn from:
Impact Theory
SpearHead
YCombinator

Do Not Follow List:
Grant Cardone
Tim Ferris
Gary Vee
Tai Lopez
Ted Talks

Books To Read that will help you get on the right journey:
- 88 The Narrow Road (Felix Dennis)
- 12 Rules for life (Jordan Peterson)
- Zero to One (Peter Theil)
- Skin In The Game (Nassim Taleb)
And please pay for the above books. Don't try to get them for free. You won't be invested in the process of learning otherwise.

Books to avoid that will help you save years by not starting on the wrong path:
- The Secret.
- All Anthony Robins books.
- All Grant Cardone books.
- Rich Dad Poor Dad.
- Think And Grow Rich.

Basically, avoid any book / content that talks too much about mindset, mentality, hustle bla bla bitch bitch. And only read / consume content that talks about timeless principles, real life execution strategies etc.

Be careful not to get addicted to consuming content. Spend less time reading, and more time doing.

If you didnt listen, I dont see how you can have an opinion on him to be fair.

It doesnt matter to me if you do or dont like him, but atleast give him a proper chance before spreading negative opinions my man... positivity is where its at

It is in their interest to speak against bitcoin. Cuz it poses a threat to their monopolistic centralized system.
