I am working on a niche site, when i checked Google analytics for the site, i noticed that the total impression is far greater than total clicks.

Total impressions: 50k
Total click: 2k

Is this normal? how can i increase click rate?

Yes it is normal.

SIMPLE - You need to appear at number 1-3 in google search results for most of your keywords

Keep in mind that if you're using a rank tracker, every single time it searches for your keywords it will also count as an impression.
I've added 500 keywords to my latest project, and it's giving me 15k impressions a month with barely any clicks since it's very new.

4% isn't entirely bad

Check the top 10 ranked sites for your searches and make sure your titles and snippets are as catchy as theirs. They likely got the top CTR.

Thanks for this, i am presently working on improving the titles of all the content i posted. I noticed a big change, some of the keywords are already ranking on page 3.

Yes I would agree too, 4-6% is cool, just need to double your sites content and links up a bit to help.

#1 nearly free thing you can do to improve your SEO is titles and snippets

Yes, sure. That is normal. Impressions are usually more than clicks. To increase clicks, you need to have many targeted internal links on your article. Plus, the post must be of acceptable quality to encourage the readers to click and follow through.

Clicks do not bring the desired effect, but more work

you need to work on content and write something that can force people to clik
