I have a friend in Pakistan who will work on my ebay accounts. It needs to look like he is in the USA. So ebay does not ban him. I just got a good residential static proxy. I want to know if it is fine for him to just connect to the proxy through Firefox browser instead of setting up a VPS. Is this a good solution for my case? To make sure there is no issues he will only be using Firefox for this ebay work. Nothing else. We will not be abusing IPs btw. Thank you for your help

Setup a VPS with Proxifier. Firefox will leak the DNS. Check on whoer.net.

Hi, I have a very similar problem to this, except I want to use for amazon not ebay. But should be the same thing. I connected my proxy to Firefox and this is what it says. Keep in mind the proxy I have is anonymous (not transparent) and is static residential. Disabled webRTC and geolocation. Should I be good? Does not look like it is leaking

Firefox has a feature which forces all DNS lookups to take place over predefined DNS servers over HTTPS. With this feature enabled, Firefox uses the Cloudflare DNS servers by default. Uncheck Enable DNS over HTTPS

Yes, just make sure you disable WebRTC as mentioned in a previous post.

As long as your displayed IP and DNS IPs are from the geo of your proxy, you can't expect more from a proxy.

Also, as an extra step, change the PC's locale settings (Timezone and Lang) to emulate those of the target geo of your proxy.

whoer.net has a detailed version, if you click at the bottom or somewhere. There you will see the DNS server, and other things.

Yes this is all I expect. I just want to manage amazon US accounts from India without running into any problems. DIsabled webRTC and looks like no leaks. Thank you for your help

Also check if the timezone is set correctly (you should change the clock of the VPS and the computer you connect from).

Yes the timezone looks good. Every detail looks spot on so far. whoer can't even tell that I am on a proxy. One more thing, should I disable javascript or does that not matter too much?

It looks good. If you disable JavaScript, you won't be able to do anything. Leave it as is.

If you need multiple proxies for multiple websites and you also need your local IP, and also some tools working 24/7, VPS is the way to go.
