I see people with 5000 words of related key words in the description in no proper sentences. Do they help?

They don't help. Use short keyword-rich descriptions. By keyword-rich, I don't mean keyword spam. Don't enter one keyword tons of times. Just make sure all the keywords you wish to rank for appear at least once in your description.

I agree with you.. Keeping too much content will not help definitely. Content with keyword should be short and simple..

nope keyword stuffing dosen't help anymore. You need a really engaging title and thumbnail.

In terms of SEO, if you're writing them in a natural manner, it may. But as we know that SEO is not a huge part of youtube, the time invested to write a "mini-article" as a description is doesn't worth your time.
