I can't figure out which one is better to check our corporate website, I got a trial with both and they look to show similar data.

However, everyone here relay on ahrefs DA/DR matrics more then they speak about SEMRush site authority matrics.

What is your choice?

Is there a cheaper alternative then what these two offer, I mean, if you want to use this for something serious you can't use the light plan's from them, you need to pay at least 200$/month and more.

you know if its just your own site you want to check, then you can signup for a free ahrefs webmaster account?

okay, this I wasn't aware of, even their customer support didn't told me that. It is only our own website..

Do you have a link or something to this?

Just sign up for an account, and then you get the option to add a project from the dashboard after you log in.

Then just upload a verification file to your server, and it will verify your site, and perform an audit, and you'll get access to all the keywords and the backlinks.

This I already did, but after 7 days they billed my card for 200$ - I asked them to refund me since I'm not ready to pay that much, so they did. But it does not look like there is any free plan.

Even if you take their 7 days trial it costs 7$ ?

Ahrefs has 2 free offerings:

1. Backlink Checker - It allows you to check backlinks of any website including your own.

2. Webmaster Tools - It is only useful if you want to audit yor own website(because it requires verfiication), check what keywords your website is ranking for, and monitor backlinks.

I use SEMrush, but it's a very personal preference. Both are great in my opinion.

In terms of cheaper alternatives, there is Mangools, which offers the same services as SEMrush or Ahrefs but costs a portion of it (€30 per month or something like that). I use it and in some things it's even better than the others, but sometimes it's a bit imprecise.

Pay 20 bucks and buy them both with group buy. You will able to crosscheck everything and get more proper data.

I have been using Ahrefs from many years and I never thought of trying any other SEO tool.

Use Ahrefs, its best SEO tool to track any keyword, check the traffic, backlinks and many other things.

i use both. There are a lot of things I like about semrush but aherfs seems to pick up rankings and backlinks faster so I use it as well. I wished it was cheaper for the two but these are IMO two must have tools when you are doing Marketing and SEO

With the group buy: can others in the group see your sites and KWs? How many sites can you add to your account with the groups?

The first one is only usable if you have a trial or paid account from them though.

Vouch for Mangools. Sick of Ahrefs and Semrush pricing.

Sick of Ahrefs and Semrush pricing.

Their prices may be high but the data they give you is invaluable. Mangools and SE Ranking are good alternatives but they can't compete with "the big 2" right now.
