PayPal integrating BTC into their platform

Interesting. How will their buyer/seller protection work with crypto payments, when those are not reversible?
The buck will still get passed to the seller. PayPal will only be acting as an intermediary for the funds, allowing them to still reverse or refund any payments they see fit.

hmm that s good than. no more Bs chargeback with Paypal and BTC. after customer confirm than the money is sent to us.

I can see it coming:

Proceeds to send some BTCs....

"We noticed unusual activity in your account. All your money is ours now and you can't do shit against it."

PayPal can go fuck themselves. I'll never use BTCs on their shitty platform.

Re-reading the article, this bit: "Consumers will be able to instantly convert their selected cryptocurrency balance to fiat currency, with certainty of value and no incremental fees" suggests that the crypto will be converted to fiat before purchase, so probably you won't be able to buy anything with crypto directly. In that case obviously they can still provide their usual buyer protection.

Oh man i smell so many fees.

It's about time. I had to turn down a lot of business here because the client can only pay in BTC. This is a great move by PayPal
Yup, so now they can lock up more than your USD. Your crypto will be held too!

Just curious so currently some of us using the PayPal buy button for buyers

so in future need to insert new script again? or it auto convert? means buyer can pay either cash as normal deduct from credit card or pay BTC

You guy's are doing illegal stuff on Paypal, that doesn't mean everyone does...

This news isn't about Paypal using Bitcoin here in BHW or other platforms, it's about a fucking institution with billion of payments per year allowing a cryto currency.

It's about bitcoin going up with all these companies buying it as an active.
It's about people getting aware that bitcoin isn't just a crappy anonymous method payment used only by russian hackers. It's about the awareness of public opinion..

This news won't help you sellers, and there is nothing you can enjoy 'cause for our kind of services, Paypal is less valuable than chit... They've a fucking monopoly.. This is more like a market news..

Yeah, I wouldn't do it as well.

I will still stick to P2Ps.

Keep your irreversible crypto transactions completely separate from Paypal, at all costs! Insecure or insincere buyers will take advantage of the integration to chargeback BTC transactions like crazy.
