Best way(s) to monetize a facebook ad

I hear the CTR on a facebook ad is horrid. BUT there must be some type of 'trick' there somewhere, or their ad revenues would hit the can.

So, I have a $100 coupon code. What shall I do? My first guess was an affiliate offer, but then again I see much bigger ways to leverage the crappy CT's.

I haven't dug around here too much on this, but has anyone ever tried an ad to promote their group? Or is that not a good idea and an affiliate offer a better idea?

based on my experience with FB ads:
- an image with your ad always been the main reason of high ctr
- targeting and targeting and more targeting always got me the best conversion, mass advertising is crap within conversion
- try and error is the key, when it comes to ads on fb, I create multiple $100 accounts and try multiple ways to do the same thing, as I am already selling em the cost is low for me, after then, I choose the best way to make it up and move it to my main account
- if i were you, i won't go with affiliate and go with a group instead:
*-* fb are very luckly to disable/ban accounts advertise direct affiliates, although they stated something else, and don't do it all the way, but they usually do, in the other hand, nothing like this happened for in-house groups
*-* in-hours groups ads got reviewed and accepted almost 2-5 times faster than others
*-* cpc for the same niches for in-house groups are almost 35-60% lower than the same niches/settings for others

its just my experience with fb ad, maybe i am right, maybe wrong, but this is how it worked to me, always been about to try and error

I was wondering what in-house group ad means?? Could you explain please??
I was mainly planning to direct link to a CPA offer, but since you're saying that FB sometimes bans these, could you explain how in the world I can promote CPA offers....

I believe what John was stating and what I was beating around the bush to was:
Create a group, or page in Facebook and use the ad to promote that group or page. If it's a good group (page) these can grow organically quite nicely.
Then use that heavy group (or page) to promote your CPA. At what number this needs to be at I am not aware of. Others here know that answer.
Or if your group is large, say 100,000+ you could even sell it. For a pretty penny to I understand.

Ohhhhh..
That's a lot of work. I thought facebook ads was just another CPC network(it is...) but I don't think its so successful, so that's why we're talking about promotion within a certain group. Now I get it.
