Venmo for non-U.S. residents?

Is there anyway to create a venmo donation account even though I don't live in the U.S.?
Does anyone have a venmo even though you don't live in the U.S.? How did you sign up for one?
I was thinking the only way might be for me to buy a U.S. phone number. I have a ship forwarding
US Address so maybe that can act like my address but I don't have a U.S. number to verify my
application.
