I think I'm Addicted to Coffee

How many sugars are you having?

Maybe take the milk and sugar out next time and see if you still crave 3 more cups of coffee after that?

Just trying to help you realise it could be an underlying sugar addiction which is really what you have.

I could be wrong.
Just my 2 cents.

Good luck with that heart beat=-)

There was a time people would drink beer for breakfast. Home brewed beer was easier to have than clean water. Kids would have it too.

Can you imagine how different the world is just because we switched from beer to coffee?

Every day I wake up and I have a big cup of coffee that I made the night before. I love the taste of it and I'll have it with milk with sugar or even just plain black. I have like 3-4 a day sometimes just cause I'm bored and it's like juice to me.
However there is sometimes mornings like this morning I have a splitting headache even after I drank my coffee so I have another one right after and I feel fine then.
Anyone else like this?

it's okay bro you are not alone.
i take 3-4 cups too with some good smoke.

A lot can happen over a coffee :D

Addiction to anything in this world is BAD.

You are fine with 6 medium espressos which will be around 500 mg of caffeine.

Make sure you hydrate properly (with plain water) since most headaches related to caffeine are caused due to dehydration and they are not directly connected to the alkaloid.

Ohhh I've never thought about the dehydration part. I mean I usually drink water but I never connected the headaches to dehydration, that is likey it.

I was like that for a long a time.

I got off caffeine a few weeks ago and got the headaches too.

Maybe a mild case of withdrawals?

Lots of water too like stelios0 said.

Yeah I heard a few people who it took them 2 weeks to get off of. I'm not looking to get off though (yet) :anyway:

As another user mentioned, headaches most often come from dehydration, especially after waking up. Drink a tall glass of water when you wake up and you'll probably feel better straight away.

Will do

Man, I remember when I drank 15 cups of coffee a day, then at the night my chest felt very tight, and could barely breathe.
I thought I would die right then and there, after that i stopped drinking coffee for a month, damn.. i love coffee a lot, even now.

Holy shit 15 !! Did you chug it or drink slowly? Cause if you drank them slowly you must have two in your hands all day XD

Everyone reacts differently to caffeine. Some can have 800mg and feel little, some are nervous after 1 cup of coffee. The same goes for what / how much you feel when you are 'off caffeine'.

I used to drink a lot of energy drink daily (suger free) for years, until I started feeling really, really tihert everyday when I didn't drink them. Also big headaches came and went.

Caffeine messes with your neurotransmitter receptors, it mimicks adenosine (that's why you don't feel tihert). Our brain isn't stupid and just makes more adenosine receptors. That's what makes you feel like crap, or to 'need some coffee' when you stop drinking (can even be after a few hours, if you are really addicted).

Hmmm.. that's very interesting I never knew about this.

Well i turn caffeine to code. I can't code without coffee. I tried to stop coffee for couple of days and i couldn't function as a human being. Slept for 15+ hours.

Lemme know if you find a solution.

Coding is very tasking on the brain for me too.. I love coding but when I do it I must be very very energized or I will end up spending a whole day correcting errors I made while tired coding for an hour LOL

I drink at least 5/6 cups a day, I feel you LOL

;);)

Say what?

If I drink a big glass of water before bed, I have to get up to pee in the middle of the night! :(

But, a big glass of water in the morning is really good for you, just like you said. I think most people walk around chronically dehydrated for their entire lives!

My vice isn't coffee; it's soda (pop, coke, soft drinks)

Yeah I will try drinking water more often. On the other hand, I cannot stand soda! What flavor is good to you because every time I have soda it just makes me more thirsty..

Only like 10% of the time do I actually have sugar.. That's when I have starbucks or something but usually I just get like milk.

I heard of somepeople who start their day with a shot of vodka haha.. But beer for breakfast must be really fattening I think. But if it was easier than clean water then that makes sense. What area of the world did this happen in?

Northern Europe, UK, Ireland, Nordic countries... pretty much all the countries that still have a strong sense of beer culture.

Being fat wasn't an issue those days... maybe they would survive on beer and little or no food at all.

Don't think commercial, cold, fizzy beer (artificially carbonated). Think more of like a... dense, warm, rich, flavory soup, with mild fizziness that would give you the calories that you needed and somewhat hydrated you in the process.

I used to have 4+ shots a day and it was kind of okay for me. Later switched to green tea.

Excessive sugar is more toxic than caffeine itself.
