Chinese Payment Methods

Hello folks,

I am interested in the best practice of how to integrate with Chinese payment methods.
Alipay, Wechat and other ways how Chinese clients could pay.

Maybe there are payment gateways that contain any Chinese payment methods.

You can create an Alipay account directly with them, Alipay will make a confirmation call in English. Or you can offer Alipay through Stripe, Paymentwall, etc.

With WeChat I don't have personal experience, but I believe it's not that different.

Depending on your location, use an aggregator (so a PSP, most of them will cover this method) and avoid dealing directly with Alipay (poor support, poor communication).
Wechatpay is less used than Alipay in general, be sure to cover the card scheme CUP (which processes 40% of payments in the world btw, far away from Visa/Mastercard).

A good Alipay fee when you start using it will be around 2% (with a big of volume, you can go do 1.2%)

It is what I said, its better to find a 3rd party to not deal directly with Alipay. Being chinese or not does not mean you cannot talk to Alipay and sign with them.
Alipay has EU/US entities to sign agreements with local companies.

However, working with Alipay is a nightmare. 3rd parties will guarantee a smoother collaboration.

Stripe works great with AliPay. Also many Chinese that buy overseas on English websites have credit cards or PayPal so its not such a big deal.

alipay and wechat pay needs longtime approval time, nearly 60days (we are a Chinese company). I suggest aggregator, but if you want to cooperate directly, I can share you some information.
