Still finding my way around here - I want to start a thread so everyone can watch what I'm doing and keep track of my progress but I'm a little worried because I don't want to break any rules - I.e I don't want to promote myself without paying for an ad on the marketplace.

If that's what you mostly do, then yes. We do allow members to welcome new members, however, don't spent majority of your time in the Intro subforum.
