How people can be surprised that China mines the most? Some areas the electricity cost is so low there that its profitable to mine 24/7 (same as some parts in Russia).

Not to mention cold climates = less need for cooling.

China has dominated BTC mining for years, and it's not a good thing. Miners have much more control over the network than people realise - it's the reason things went so sideways when BCH forked.
