I always buy from namecheap personally, if you're a first time buyer there's a code for like an $0.88 or $0.99 can't remember, and I think GoDaddy has this promo as well. There might be other places, but that's what I use.

Using for the past 1 year and have around 17 domains. No issues, so far.

I gave up namecheap a few years ago for Dynadot Like 8.95 .com and right now like $2.99 for .co's

They wont allow you to transfer the domain and the renewal charge will be high. Not the case with porkbun though.
Renewal charges from Godaddy is always on higher side and thats Y majority is skipping them.

I assume the choice of the domain name registrar will depend on the several factors like:
registration fee
renewal fee
If you are going to use domain name for less than 1 year of so you need the one with cheapest registration fee.
If they are domains registered over the long run than you need to take into account renewal fee and measure.
