I have a domain that's a year old, three posts to it and is making me $500 or so a month with just 2000 visitors.

My plan on this is to go wide while maximizing the return on the visitors I'm already getting.

To go wide, I've come up with 50 similar concepts I'm going to be going after. Each of those concepts I'll be doing the highrise method of basically finding the best ranking pages for each concept and beating it in every way possible while making sure you match the user intent.

The hardest part of that for me is going to be the actual writing. I'm rubbish at writing, so I'm going to have to hire that part out. I found a writer that gave pretty good results. They are a bit pricey, but if I can eventually get those pages monitized even somewhat as effectively it will pay for itself many, many times over.

Speaking of monetization, I am running mainly rev share affiliates. There is some PPS, but I'm working on phasing that out for every channel that I can. It will mean some immediate drop in revenue, but the long term gains are just so worth the wait.

In addition, I've also wanted to learn more about parasites. To motivate myself, I'm going to build parasites to monetize a few different clickbank products. I'm not looking for anything phenomenal here, but who knows?

Day one and I've got a new post up on the site. It's targeting a tougher competition keyword, and I don't expect it to do anything for a while, but this piece is going to be corner stone content that I will be building on.

I'm also working on my first parasite. It's a total cop out first try. It's even just going to punt back to my website that is redirected back to the landing page, but it's a start.

Yes you can rank & bank with parasites for low comp. keywords. All the best with your journey :)

Thanks! I feel like parasites are stupid simple and I've just over complicated them in my mind.

Goodluck with your journey

Thank you!
Good luck OP for your goals and keep updating.

Thank you!

The goal for today is to get that first parasite up and going. Since this one is going to be a little more spammy I plan on using Google sites so it doesn't get deleted.

I'm also thinking of throwing up a article on medium for the post I made yesterday to help it get indexed.

That reminds me, I don't have a set backlink strategy yet. I'm more worried about getting the content in the site, but I really need to figure out what I'm doing on that front. I'd love to do some niche edits, but those seem to be rather expensive. Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you really mean, you have just three posts on the blog and you are earning? I need to learn.

Btw, good luck on this journey.

I submitted an article to be written by a service a few days ago and it's still just sitting there, waiting for a writer to pick it up. I don't mind waiting if it means quality, but I'm having doubts about their ability to perform.

I did end up getting a parasite set up late last night, but it is just terrible quality. Reading a couple of journeys here has made me realize that I need to improve my writing skills. To help with this, I've set up a Trello board with an outline of an article that will hopefully make it easier to keep myself focused on what I'm trying to accomplish with the article.

I did some more competitor research and realized that the 800-pound gorilla in my niche has terrible content. It's just long. It does nothing to help the reader. The site itself is also glaringly tacky. I feel like topping both of those should be pretty easy.

2000 visitors , monthly?

Yep. Roughly at least. Last month I had 1983 visitors.

You are killing it with just 3 pages.

Thank you. One page makes up for 85% of that. A second page makes the other 15 and the last page I never even finished nor monetized.

Thank you. Yeah, just three posts. I mean, there are other pages, like a privacy policy, category pages, tag pages, etc., but only three posts.

A couple interesting observations that I forgot in my last post. First off, the parasite is already indexed by google. That's less than 12 hours to index. Not to shabby.

Second, the 2000 word post that I put up a few days ago at the beginning of this journey is already getting search traffic on baidu. Not only that, but it's getting roughly half of the search traffic my main page is getting.

I personally get such a small percentage of my traffic from baidu that I don't really care about that part as much as what it might mean when big G finally decides to index it.

which parasite did you used? What do you do to index it?

Also want to know what parasites do you use

I haven't gotten much work done the past couple days. I picked up a new hobby of growing my own weed in hydroponics so I spent the time getting that set up and dialed in. The good news is that I already have several seeds sprouted.

I was thinking of starting a site based in that niche. It might be possible, if I did enough research. However, there are already several sites that do such a great job covering the topic that I wouldn't be adding any value. In fact, I feel like if I were to outrank some of those sites, I'd be doing a disservice to the stoner community.

I've put up a couple parasites now. The first one I did was a medium article. I put it up that night and by the morning it was indexed. I didn't have to do anything. The main point to the parasite was to speed up the indexing of the article I published shortly before the parasite.

And... It worked. By the next day the article on my money site was indexed.

The article I paid to have written still has not been finished or even started. I'm probably going to just cancel the request at this point.

I have a 2000 word post halfway finished that I plan on completing today and getting up on the site.

Interesting journey. Thanks for sharing, I'm following.
