On one of my sites I have a couple pages with the old content from the previous owner. One of the pages ranks #1 for a half dozen or so keywords. The problem is that those keywords bring in almost zero traffic.

Are those #1 rankings helping in other ways that may not be so obvious? As in, does that help the ranking of my other pages?

I want to go through and tweak it to try to rank for higher traffic keywords, but not if it could be detrimental to the other pages.

You can Interlink your pages, it can help a bit :)

The more pages you have ranking high the higher the chances newer pages on the same site has to rank high.

Obviously a site with many ranking pages is of high domain authority at least in the sight of Google.

Interlinking will also ensure the juice is spread across the entire site.

Does that count even on keywords that don't have any traffic?
