Kolkata!! Your room rent would be $100. Internet bill would be less than $13 (unlimited, 60mbps fibre). Food bill would be around a $2 a day if you want "very good" food (can be $1 a day if you cook yourself). So, it is less than $200 for a single person to be honest. Rest of the $300, you can spend for shiny things and alcohol.

Not bad atall. It can be upto 1GBps if you take from Reliance (afaik). It has become much better compared to some other developing countries, especially in the last two years. I pay around $8 for a 48 mbps unlimited connection, which is not bad for my usage.

to put argentina in perspective: 200usd (in local coin) is a average to decent monthly salary. statistically, most people lives with less. 500 should be really comfy, even in BSAS that tends to be more expensive. the super expensive wine they take in usa is our medium to cheap stuff lol. healthcare is mostly public and free (private one is better). full disclaimer: we are on a rather dark period here right now, economically speaking. that means lots of inflation and business closure. but you wouldn't need to worry about that, which makes it even better. also, technology here is very expensive because taxes are ridiculous.

I want to come to Argentina (and rest of South Am) so much. I saw an airbnb the other day in Buenos Aires that was amazing and dirt cheap compared to the same in Europe.

Pretty good if you have a broadband connection. 4g speeds depend on the area. Speeds are better in tier 1 and tier 2 cities. You can even get a 500mbps-1gbps broadband plan if you have the budget (which is still going to be cheaper when compared to the West).

You might not like Delhi. Choose your city wisely. I'd always suggest people to go with Bangalore or Mumbai when they first want to try living in India.

Totally, most stuff is worth peanuts here, other than technology. Argentina is awesome for people who don't depend on its economy keeping it's shit together. For those of us who do depend on it, it's kind of a nightmare lol. Imagine your savings devaluating 47% each year. Of course, you don't get the corresponding raises either. I don't like the crowd in Delhi. Only very selected few areas are safe to live. Pollution is horrible. Even Mumbai and Bangalore are polluted but in Delhi it's through the roof. Each and every person in Delhi is going to try to scam the shit out of you. They don't even spare Indians who are not from Delhi, imagine the plight of foreigners. And I'm not talking about regular citizens here. I'm talking about the people you're going to do business with everyday. For example your tuk tuk (we call it Rickshaw in India) driver.

People in Mumbai and Bangalore are still going to try and rip you off seeing your white skin. But the cities are much better to live. Mumbai is huge and there are a lot of ghetto areas so it's easy to end up in one finding cheaper apartments there. You'll have to spend more to live in a nice area.
Bangalore is overall the best among these 3. Being the IT hub of India, you'll find the crowd is much better when compared to Mumbai and Delhi. The weather in Bangalore is amazing all year round - no extreme summer or winter. Plus a ton of other foreigners to socialize with.

Yupp that should be possible, in theory that is. One of my relatives went to Nepal for some official work recently. Nepal is another country, technically; although we don't need visa to visit them. Crossing the border by land is the only way possible right now.

You can get a fully furnished apartment in a nice area for $200-$250 that even goes up to $1000 depending on the amenities offered.
In short, you can live in Bangalore for around $500-600 per month. If you're spending on drinks and outing regularly then it can cross even $1000.

I always have everything in usd, in my pokerstars account. But 99% can't have that luxury, so they are screwed. especially business owners; they need liquidity to keep their business going, and that means they are wide open to inflation. not much they can do about it. average varies between buenos aires and the rest of the country. i would say, 200usd? in dollar blue i mean. because no one can access the official value of dollar, barring government friends and family. yeah, we have multiple valuations of USD. officially its worth 80 pesos, but no one can get it at that price. oh, buying USD is mostly illegal here. so you have to buy it on the streets, that is called dollar blue, and its worth around 145 pesos. demand for blue is sky high, because inflation makes it the smart play (when i first came here, i loved how jr VIP was blue, exactly because of this). so yeah, its dishearting if you are a local, but if you are a foreigner with online income, its awesome and quite safe.
