I am going to launch a course about a specific method to make money online. Price for the course, I plan to keep at $500 at start and then may be increase after some reviews. How should I promote the course? Paid methods, I am considering YouTube ads, Google Adwords and FB ads. Free, I can am thinking to drive traffic through Quora. Any other way to promote or any other suggestion.

The method is completely genuine and I am personally making money with it. Not going to give hints about the method here or to sell here.

If you are selling genuine make money making methods you will be fine. But if you are selling method to make method people will see right through that crap and will post it on share sites. Remember selling method is a method.
In any case you will be dealing with the risk of your method(s) getting leaked.

I think you can promote courses through IG as well. Pay some influencers with a high number of followers to promote yours through their page.

Extra tip: You can even offer a discount code to the influencer so their followers can use it and be motivated enough to purchase it and share it. $500 isn't that expensive for a full course with quality content, you just need to convince people to pay that amount.

High ticket sales through webinar are the way to go so potential buyers hear and see you over an hour or so whilst they can get to know, like and trust you - and if you come over well you should get sales.
Its not an easy path but for that price ticket you'll have the best way there.
Think of a registration page and follow that with solo ads + FB/YT ads.

Alternatively hit up one of the launch masters (new product every two weeks!!) on Warrior Forum and offer it as an up-sale on their next product/s cutting the percentage a couple of ways. Or ask for a spot as a part of a bonus on their download page for their product to get buyers to buy their newest shiniest product - for access to a registration page to buy your product/attend your webby.

If you are a "guru" or maybe you want to be a mentor. I recommend you start with FB ads: build your website , set up fb pixel, make traffic, collect leads and then you could make insane funnel for your courses, because with emails you could make remarketing campaigns on anywhere like, fb, instagram, youtube and etc. So, first of all you should make content, social proof to make people believe in you, they should feel like they are your friends and then they will buy. It is yourself Branding.
