I've built links to my site from domains, however, can I drive those links to a URL Shortener to duplicate the power?

Something such as bit.do or bit.ly, could I send links to duplicate the power

Are you asking if whether creating a backlink through a URL shortener will increase the juice?

So:

1. Other Site ---> Link (naked) ---> Money Site
2. Other Site ---> Link (URL Short) ---> Money Site

Are you asking if #2 gives you more juice? Or are you asking if you can put both #1 and #2 on the same Other Domain page backlink spot for double the power?

I think both answers are no. Just put your link there. Use a shorter if you want it to look better or want added analytics about clicks.

I was more thinking about

Backlinks ---------> bit.do/bit.ly ------> Money site

So, I may be misinterpreting but I think I see it now.
I believe that I still stick with my answer.
It looks like the idea would be that you are just overlapping links without adding value.

I wouldn't expect URL shorteners to add backlink value that would increase SERP rankings to any degree. I could be wrong, but if I was Google, I would identify something like a bit.ly or bit.do as a tool and not a true backlinking site. Maybe akin to a directory service page, or something like that. If I were a Google engineer I would categorize URL link shorteners such that they wouldn't boost rankings or pass juice because they aren't the original backlinking domain. Value added is important for SERP not just the sheer number of backlinks. I think this question is falling into this category for me.

I wouldn't bother with it, but I would be interested to see if it did actually bump you up via Shortening Layering.

just found this in bit.do's FAQ page

Why I can not shorten a link pointing to other url shortener?
If you got the error message "Sorry but URLs in this domain can not be shortened.", it is because you were trying to link to other URL shortener. Due to abuse, it is not possible to shorten a URL that points to other URL shortener. Users could be trying to hide the real destination. However, you can shorten pointing the link to the final destination.
