Q - Selling Website Creation Service

Hi BHWers,
I want to try offering website creation services for local business person,
and I have some questions related to it and maybe i can get some answers
here from you that have exp with website creation services.

My questions:
1. How do you deal with domain name choosing with client? Does client do the research or you?
2. How about the content for client company? do we request all their company information/service offered/products description?
3. How about the details when buying domain (emails/account/password) for renew it later?
4. And who do the domain renew process? client or you?

1. Either of you can do this. Mostly, the client will expect you to come up with a few suggestions, and then they choose the final name.

2. Yes, you request all of the data that's needed. You might have to order more content for blog or homepage though.

3. Ask the client to purchase the domain and hosting unless your package includes that. If its latter, you can push the domain to the client's account for free.

4. It'll be on the client.

Your task will be to focus on growth. Any of the costs like domain, hosting, theme, plugins, etc should be on the client (unless otherwise agreed)

Try not to offer everything in one package. This will save you from a lot of headaches later. Just offer what you are going to offer. It could be design, development, UX and so on. It will keep things simple for both - the seller and the customer. For example, if the client wants to change the server; he can easily do that without you having to interfere in between. This is how I used to work, when I worked as a freelancer. The max I would do is suggest services for the server, domain registration and so on.
