New here, looking for advise for an escort website

Hi everyone just like the title says I'm new here. We run an escort agency website based in Toronto Canada that has a 8 years old domain.
Our ranking was most of the time on page 2 of google so last year in 2019 we hired a SEO company that managed put us on page one on google with the keywords that were important to us such of Toronto escorts, Toronto escort and escorts in Toronto. However in February our ranking dropped overnight from page one to page 5 and since than we are stuck there. The SEO company didn't seam to be able to fix it so we had to let them go.
From what I understand there were some Google updates that affected our website ranking but i'm not an expert in SEO so I thought someone can advice me what that changes were and if there is anything I can do to put my website back on page one?

I think you know your competitors and websites. Check if they loose rankings as well or not...because you like it or not, some are doing "negative SEO".
Check Google Search Console, from where you have backlinks.
Check links indexed, backdoors, exploited backlinks, etc.
Check if your IP is dedicated and not shared...

There could be a lot of factors involved. The main witness to your investigation should be the seo company you hired try to reason with them and see what is the matter for such a weird drop. A drop like this can mean a lot of things if you sendme the lik I can inspect and offer you advice free ofcourse. Been in The adult niche since 14 years dont look at the age of the account.
