PBN is 301 right for this the same industry domain?

i purchased an expired domain which is exactly in the same industry as me

I read some PBN advise to create an "authentic" website and anchor text link to my money site.

while some other people advise to just create an "authentic" website and then 301 to the money site.

I am kind of confused what to do with this domain.

Yes, you can do the redirect. Just check the domain having links from any of the authority websites, related to your niche, ranking for any of the keywords, and if it's having existing traffic you can do the 301 redirect.

the domain has links from authority website, yes, but only one blog without keyword related to my niche
also the domain is expired, obviously no existing traffic.

Yes, it's still worth it. It's an easy way to pass all link juice to a website. Just make sure that the domain is spam free and not used as a PBN. But I won't recommend redirect as a regular link building one. Go for some quality PBN links, Guest posts and niche edits as well.

If you use it as PBN, you are only passing some authority through backlink.

If you 301, you are passing complete authority.

Choice is yours.

in the case that the domain is only relevant, such as i am in pluming business, and my expired domain is in law mowing, can I still use 301?
