Hey guys I'm just wondering if most of the new coins aren't based on etherums contract technology and they just sort of niche down with a specific focus?

Yes I might get my own coin made. Not a token but an actual coin

I'm currently trying to figure out how exactly blockchain technology can be used in non blockchain I mean they don't need the actual coin right? Only the technology behind it.

They are not based on waves I can tell you that much.

The ERC20 standard is cool. Look it up.

It's a bit of a confusing set of questions tbh. Can you rephrase them to make it a bit more clear what you're asking?

Blockchain is used in 99.9% of cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies can be either tokens or coins - the differences are (not rigidly) that tokens are built using other cryptocurrencies and run "on top of them" and also that they typically have a specific use. Many coins are predominantly focused on payments and have their own blockchains.

If you're asking about non-financial applications of blockchain, check out supply management and how it's being used there.

Blockchain is just a data structure - it stores and retrieves information. Cryptocurrencies use blockchain to store and retrieve data relating to value (amongst other things). A hospital might use blockchain to store and retrieve data that is all of the inventory for the hospital and patient data.

Same data structure, different function.

There are also non-blockchain cryptocurrency data structures like the tangle as well that have nothing to do with bc.

Lol I know. But aren't most new coins just niched downs hardforks more or less of etherum?

Yes and no but mostly yes is the shortest answer.

Then there is EOS, ADA, NEO even TRX etc..... Different chains.

So projects are usually collecting millions of dollars and they are hiring 10-30 blockchain devs to develop new blockchains (or DAG's) and this process is taking them years. And you will make "actual coin" ?

If you want to make your own crypto, just make it on top of existing chains. The easiest way is to make it on top of Ethereum as ERC20 token. Anyone can deploy smart contract and make new coin, but it would have no use or value without proper project / idea.

Well my coin should basically be a coin that can be used for more or less everything. Also I think the gas fee's on ethereum is a problem and why I atm won't make a token based on that
