It can at least get you started if you have little or nothing at all as followers... once you have a few hundreds to get the ball rolling, then you can start hunting for real followers..When you get a significant number of real followers, then you can take of the fake followers. In some businesses, if you have no followers, it hurts your chances of landing a gig via social media.

I've always been against this on Twitter since it's such a real and down-to-Earth community. I think buying fake followers would work best on social media like Instagram. Try to keep it as real as possible in TW, real engagement works its magic.
