hi,i started new amazon affiliate review site 2 months ago.

these days i'm doing backlinking. i read lot of thread in here and i got doubt.

mainly i create backlink for inner pages with extract match keywords and lsi keywords as anchor text.
i didn't create any backlink that points to home page.
currently i'm strict to single niche, but i have a future plan to expand this site to another niche.

so...
whats the best way to do backlink for these type of site?
do i need to work on build backlink to home page first?
whats the best anchor text ratio?
my all pages can access within 3 click from home page.
if i build parasite for inner pages, is it okay to use extract match keyword as anchor text or do i need to use generic keyword there?

Yikes. Exact matches?

Keep that up and you're going to get your site hammered by penguin.

I do ZERO exact match.

A little partial on a more aged site.

The fastest way to kill a new site before it even gets going is exact match anchors.

And to make matters worse, you aren't building any brand links to the homepage.. How many keywords is your site ranking for just now?

Best way? I'm not sure. I usually do backlinks on high DA / PA social sites, reddit, blogger, etc.

You can build backlinks on PDF upload sites with high authority or video / slide show sharing sites.

You can link from a parasite and use exact match and similar keywords. Linking to inner pages is a good idea.

I don't think ratio of anchor text is so important. Don't overthink it just do it and do as much as possible without being spammy.

For a new site you want lots of brand/naked to the homepage.

Don't hammer internal pages with links. Try to spread them out more naturally. I rarely see good results when someone just blasts an inner page with links. You're better off creating more informational articles and doing 1 backlink to them.

Your internal anchors are important.

1-2 internal anchors on every single page. Contextual. 80-90% exact/partial/aggressive lsi, but go aggressive internally. Link to relevant pages and you can create virtual silos with your contextual internals. Ie, 1 money article with 10 informational articles all linking to it with different exacts/partials, 1-2 backlinks to the money page, 1-2 backlinks to the info articles.

For your external anchors to inner pages.

lsi's, naked, "site.com/the-full-page", misc, brand

So this would look like

yoursite.com/best-toaster

toasters at yoursite

reviews at yoursite

the latest toasters are reviewed here

if you're in the market for a new toaster

have a look at these reviews here

I don't do pure brand to inner pages, I do a phrase brand like the "toasters at yoursite", or "visit yoursite", or "these reviews at yoursite are good"

70-80% homepage for the first 2 months. PLENTY of brand. web 2 foundational brand links, a press release, social profiles, business profiles, high quality directories. All the stuff a normal business should have.

From 2 months on, 50% homepage, 50% inner

From 1 year on you can start to move towards 60-70% inner and 30-40% homepage.

It's not an exact science. These are just rough figures. SEO is more art than science.

You type like a male from a certain part of the world that's not western... nice username tho lol

But yea get more brand anchors for the homepage and avoid exact match anchors for now Olivia ‍♂️

follow a lot of your posts. Many good advice, specially if you know how to read between the lines!
one question: what would you do, if the number 1 site for the niche, has shit load of exact match backlinks? how would you overcome that?

For a new site 1) build home page links along with inner page links, Inter link all, use lsi, partital keywords and then wait for it to age before you scale your links

Home page links are important for the new sites. so start focusing on it. Internal links between the pages would also prove more effective. Just make they are relevant to each other. make it appear natural to the search engines.

Using parasite sites is good way, but dont forget to blast it with baclinks.
good practice is focus more on your competitiors backlinks profile.
consentrate on guest posting, social share on active profile. 30% on front page. 50% pillar posts. And remaining on normal post works fine.
best of luck...

On your inner pages, this is how your backlink anchor text profile should break down.

  • 35%-45% of your links should fall in the Brand, Natural, and URL Anchor category.
  • 50%-60% of your links should fall in the Key Phrases Mixed Into Anchor category.
  • Up to 10% of your links should fall in the Exact Match Anchor category.

The thing is because there are so many factors google takes into consideration sometimes you will see a site with more exact match anchors. You have to be careful. It may have something "protecting" it that you don't have. Age, higher trust. All sites aren't really treated equally. If you blast a 6 month old site with exacts, you can kill it, but it's very hard to do with a 5-10 year old site. And by 5-10 years, I don't mean anything to do with the domain age, I mean the actual time raking for what it's ranking for which is the important thing when it comes to age.

In general I would just keep the same approach of being careful with my anchors, building virtual silos with aggressive internal linking anchors and backlinking the nodes in the virtual silos to further boost the main page.

If this still isn't working you can certainly go for a couple of partials and an exact to see how it responds. Just keep it slow and controlled. Try 1 exact from a strong contextual and see how it responds, then try another 1-2 partials and so on. Don't repeat exacts, so if you have "best toaster", your next exact would be "toaster reviews", then "the best toaster", "the best toasters", "best toaster 2020" and so on. You won't hurt your site with a couple of exacts, it tends to be more problematic when you're just hitting every page with exacts. This definitely will trigger an unnatural link building penalty of some sort. If you have an authority site that's getting tons of different backlinks, and it has a batch of exacts, it won't stand out.

Imagine fake reviews on a bst..

Take a brand new bst, with no real reviews and give it 10 "exact match" reviews. Ie, overly positive reviews "Super amazing service. I am so happy. I'm on page 1 now for loads of tough keywords. Will be using this service again!"

Easy to spot.

Now imagine an older bst that regularly gets dozens of real reviews and add in some overly positive "exact match" reviews. It will be hard to spot.

This is what google is like, except it's a computer program so it's even harder for it to spot things unless they are really blatent.

If a fairly new site is getting a bunch of backlinks to its inner pages, and almost all of them are exact match, it's easy to programatically spot this.

I don't think penguin is some simple ratio. This is precisely why you see sites ranking high with a ton of exact match.

1 site might get 3 exact match per month for 3 years and end up with 36 of them. Another might do 10 in 1 month and get a penalty.

This is just plain wrong.

35% is very low for brand/url/natural.

50-60% phrases is very high. Almost no real site has 35% brand and 50-60% phrase + 10% exact.

10% exact is HUGE. *HUGE*

If you have 500 backlinks, you're going to have 50 exact match anchors.

I don't ascribe to ratios, but you should be looking more at 70-80% brand/naked/natural, 20-30% phrase/lsi and at most 1% exact, 2% partial.

when we do backlink to homepage like niche edit, parasite or guest post, will it okay to use inner page lsi keywords or partial match keywords?

Respect! As always your posts needs to be read few times in order to truly understand the power of what you are saying. I hope others pick up on your advises! cheers

Use LSI keywords and build some backlinks for homepage. If you have idea of multi niche then try to build your site as brand so you won't have any problem in future.

How long should one wait before adding a serious amount of backlinks? I've seen horror stories here of sites strangled in the crib, and I'm hesitant. An exact question would be: how many referring domains/backlinks should one have after a month?
