How to monetise giveaways?

Hi all

I have a few questions about giveaways. I want to do giveaways on my youtube channel. I'm talking about real giveaways and not fake ones. But I want to monetise them to make a profit out of them. Any thoughts on what the best way is?

Also, I want them to be fun and fair. Any ideas how to implement some sort of game and the winner gets the price (Guess this/that, not just picking a random number)? I have seen youtubers use gleam to run competitions, any thoughts?

Legal issues that I have to take into account? I have found a sweepstakes template that I can put on pastebin and link to it in my video.

I dont have any experience in this but the simplest way to do something like this is to make at leas an email submition rule where you collect their emails and after that you can monetize them....

Let them fill in a survey to participate in the giveaway. And add a fake counter with a really low amount of people who have participated, this makes people want to fill in the survey, just because the odds seem really high to win

You can use CPA offers to monetize your traffic.

Lead them to a website / landing page. Main thing here is to build a list that you can send your offers too down the road.

Try to use SumoMe's Welcome Mat on your website too if you want to capture more emails.

You won't make money off of them immediately, but it's an investment for you. You'll reap the rewards eventually if you do it right.

You mean those surveys where they have 5 options to choose from where they to sign up for advertisement? Like they always do with generators (ex: free GTA V money, xbox points generator, itunes card generator,...) . I don't like those things.

I plan on doing running giveaways with having my traffic do a CPA offer before viewing giveaways. My main concern is that by having them do a CPA offer it's kind of having them "pay", would it make it a lottery? Making the giveaway illegal in a few states

Nope, this never took off. It was one of those ideas that sounded great in my head, but never executed. I really didn’t know how to get traffic back then, let alone make a giveaway engaging.

Ask your viewer to fill up the form in order to participate in giveaway. The form would include a text box to get email address.

That way you are collecting email address. Later, you can monetize the email list by sending them affiliate link.
