Hi everybody, i want to ask you a few questions about backlinking

1) Why people that know a lot about this are building backlinks for goarticle etc instead of building backlinks for their webpage?

2) I have read 550 Quality Backlinks & Exactly How to Find Thousands More.pdf Book and follow all steps, i putted links in my profile like 3 weeks ago and did the pinging but no backlinks from here until now. What do i have to do get my backlinks from those forums?

3) Pinging accelerates the backlinking process? How much time does normally takes to get the backlink?

all these questions are based on backlinkwatch.

Thank you all!

Can anyone help please?

Check Yahoo to see if you've picked up the backlink there.

People build links to goarticles, and deep pages because it looks more natural then having 2000 links to your homepage and none to deep content.

For profile links, getting them found - ping them, bookmark them or set your birthday to a day or two later that way you're on the forum homepage for the day under birthdays where you will likely get spidered.

Thanks for the Tips! But how long does it takes to get backlinked?

1) I'm not quite sure. Some people prefer to have an article on another site ranked highly, maybe their site is very low pr and they just want to boost up the search engines quickly by writing articles for a site with high pr. However i find that a full niche site with lots of content about a subject is naturally a more valuable site to Googles index. I prefer to build my sites from the ground up, i think it works better.

2) I haven't read the book. What you have to understand about backlinks and these tools is its all guess work. These backlink tools are not accurate. The nature of SEO means that everything is usually just a guide. Just because your backlink tool isn't displaying a link does not mean its not there or Google is not picking it up. You know its there, you created the link.

What i would say is usually search engines can see the link even when its not in a backlink checker like yahoo. My advice is to stop worrying about it, your backlink tool sohuld only be used as a guide and keep on creating those backlinks.

3) Pinging simply tells search engines there's a new page. I take it you mean "How long does it take search engines to discover a backlink", that question is similar to "how long is a piece of strong" no one really knows. It's like taking a taxi through the city at rush hour, you just don't know but you know it'll be found in the end. As always, be patient, stop worrying aobut it and keep building.

The best way to judge your SEO strategy is by result. I will build many backlinks and expect to see some sort of change in my rankings within the space of 7-30 days.

I'm agree with gorang.

One thing i do is just typing the full url where the link was placed to see if google show it in the serps, if so, maybe google has registered the backlink already.

Try it.

.

lol, that is the most straight forward explanation I've ever heard. Its true on so many levels though, maybe not to the op liking but true nonetheless.

If you are talking about Forum Backlinks, Google roughly takes around a week to collect 80% of the Backlinks from various forums.

EDIT: If you Ping, it will take a lot lesser time.
