Whelp, Was Just Fired For The First Time Ever

How was I contentious? I replied to the thread, to which I was replied to? He didn't have to reply to my thread and wasn't even the OP.

True and I apologise, but it gave the wrong context to the message when I was only trying to help.

This is not the first time you have been contentious in my presence.

How about you accept that people are not attacking you or calling you out on this forum?

if you have internet, you can earn much money. Take it easy

I'm sorry that this occurred to a job you were satisfied with. Keep looking around, hopefully you find the opportunities as it's clear to see you're not afraid to work hard so make sure that employers realise this. Hopefully things work out for the best.

If you are a writer you could find a way to document your experience in your free time, if you do it in a captivating way it could inspire others in these difficult times.

Not sure how I feel about it. It's a weird feeling to be fired because I've never been fired from a position, ever. I was working in the most miserable job I've ever had and I thought I found a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a new job. The pay was better but the drive was a little out there. It was an hour and 10 minutes to and an hour and 10 minutes back, doing 4 12 hour shifts a week. The boss was clearly a little off of his rocker but the pay was decent.

Fast forward to yesterday, it was my day off. I worked Thursday night to Monday morning. In the background, the boss was editing the schedule, didn't tell anyone, and started sending me angry texts late Monday night asking why I wasn't at work. I called him as soon as I woke up to a somber tone telling me it wasn't working out and I was fired. I guess I'll be hitting the job market and looking for remote work or maybe seeing if freelancing is an option to pay the bills even though I haven't done it seriously in a long time.

For now, I think I could use a few sips of Grandpa's cough medicine and I'll be spending every waking moment trying to figure things out.

Sorry to hear that. I've been "let go" myself. It sucks but you can make it through. I won't say it'll be easy because it may not be that way. BHW is an amazing resource. Who knows getting "let go" may not be what you wanted but could be exactly what you needed. You could be someone who changes the game for everyone in the future.

Thanks for the kind words. Today, the 'friend' who got me into that job ghosted me and removed me from every online presence without saying a word. I'm just going to take it in stride as it seems like he and his friend (my former boss) did me a favor. This is more than likely going to be the push I need to take online marketing seriously again and hopefully never have to walk into a toxic environment again to pay the bills.

Wish my place would fire me. I keep having fantasies where the roof collapses and kills me. Sigh.

Whoa, that's no way to live man. Please take a deep breath, count the positives and go again.

haha I'm ok dude. I was actually planning on leaving in March as my home business was booming (private music lessons), but got hit hard with the pandemic. I'm still grateful I'm earning an income, it's just soul destroying. Hence why I'm here, learning something new everyday. Wish OP all the best and can find something that resonates with him.
