How do you know he is monetised?
From what I've been told, there is no way to know which channels are monetised or not. Only guess work.
If it's because you see ads on his videos, that doesn't mean he's monetised. They can still put ads on your videos without
you getting a penny of it.

If being verified means you are monetised, then I didn't know that. How do you get verified?

I've been asking for a long time now, why YT can't just tell us who is monetised and who isn't. It's not like we're asking for specific numbers
like how much money does each channel make and reveal it. It would just be transparent knowing what "job" actually pays and what job is
just for leisure like we do in real life jobs. We all apply for jobs because we KNOW it pays money. Nobody is just "guessing" that you might
get paid for this or that job.

his channel has over 59 million views. Im guessing he just has the stats to be approved

Most probably https://youtu.be/5bxqk3hW-gc

not likely. He can't upload those footages and get money from it. Those are clearly copyrighted footages.
My question is, I wonder if he's just doing it for fun as a hobby or if he's offering something else like backlinks
or affiliates, merch, etc.

Wanted to check some NBA live on Youtube and came across this channel.

What's the deal?
You need 100K+ subscribers to apply for verification: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3046484?hl=en

The channel you linked meets that requirement.

Not every video gets copyright claimed.

This channel specifically looks like it was hacked 2 weeks ago as that's when it went from normal content to the spam. The guys who do this normally hack large channels, change adsense, spam monetizable videos, and hope they get paid out before the channel gets banned or recovered by the owner. Maybe it isn't hacked and maybe it isn't monetized by the uploader but that's usually how it goes.

i think there are ONLY 2 options here:
1. it's a legit joint venture, since his channels has large subscriber base and daily views
the sport channel wanted to distribute it's content to his subscribers and allowed him to use that content.

2. he uses the 100K subscribers/channel verification to avoid detection in some way, and re-using and monetizing others copyrighted content.
