Just wondering what is everyones thoughts about Googles latest feature: https://services.google.com/fh/files/misc/black-owned.pdf

I mean I get that emotions have been running high lately but isn't this a bit much?
Who the hell has ever thought, gee i'm not going to buy anything from them because they're black. In 2020? Like less than 1% of the population in america and west europe and that <1% are probably people nobody wants around their business anyway.

I mean not only is it actually kinda racist in itself if you think about it but imagine if someone did this for your race - it's actually rather demeaning, patronising and insulting quite frankly like they're implying being black means you're too incompetent or is a handicap, professionally. Like having down syndrome or something and so you need lots of extra help and support.

I'm not mad. I just think it's a glaring double standard. Look if it was a flag for a business that supports severely abused housewives to get back on their feet or something like that - I mean any situation where there is an obvious sense of helplessness then I would give them precedence no doubt.

But to favour people based purely on the colour of their skin when such persons are generally as mentally, physically and socially capable of running a business as anyone else and want to earn a quick buck and fill their bellies like absolutely everyone else, is absurd.

Exactly, everything is stirred up with race nowadays. Why can’t we all just be equal. Like you said if there was an option to choose white owned business everyone would flip.
