This post was made by a human located in the pizza country, please excuse any spelling error.
So my first ever thread got pretty popular, and i recently had a problem with an action block because i'm dumb enough to test if i can get 800 actions in a day.
Long story short, I got action blocked, and trust me, this is tragic. An action block means all of your future action limits will be halved (I tested this) and your account's reach will be hurt. Pretty horrible, right? So i went onto researching a solution.
Here is what i tried:
- Connect your facebook account? Done that, it's pretty much useless.
- Deleting your instagram app data? It might unlock your actions on the device, but it wont solve the actions limit being halved
- Changing your profile's bio? I don't even know who came up with this bullshit.
- Leaving your account to chill for some days? I estimated having to do this for 3 months before getting back my sweet sweet 700 actions limit
It's all youtube crap, i can't believe people have millions of subscribers fedding this garbage.
It was time to get my big boy pants on, here is the solution:
So then i started listing all of the possible features in the instagram app and writing them down, trying to think about which one could improve my profile's status.
Before i even finished listing down the features, i saw it: Fucking Promotions.
Chances are instagram doesen't want people that give them money to get angry at action blocks, that would be a terrible, terrible business model. So i tought, what would instagram do if i were to complain after a promotion?
I quickly collected an Impressive budget of 5$ and ran a 1 day promotion on my most popular post, 24 hours later it got approved, 48 hours later it was finished.
As soon as the promotion expired, i went onto the post's statistics tab and instagram asked me if i was happy with how the promotion went...
Oh Instagram, let me check.... i got 6 new followers thanks to this promotion? WOW! This is life changing!!!
Jokes aside, i obviously hit "no" and left them a message saying "I am unable to perform any action, this is outrageous, please unblock my profile immediately, this is unacceptable" or something along those lines. 2 hours later my profile had no limits left and now i'm back to spamming 450 people daily.
TL;DR: I paid 5$ for a promotion and instagram unblocked me, also i could have bought a pizza with that, life sucks
Stay safe!
