I am looking in to getting one of these programs in order to start making Niche market sights. I have head good and bad things about both.

In your experience what one do you recommend?

Bans site
hxxp://w3.buildanichestore.c0m/

PHPbay Pro site
hxxp://w3.phpbay.c0m/

Thanks!

I am using both, but phpBay Pro wins hands down, simply because Google likes blogs! So much so that I am considering dumping BANS.

A bog standard BANS store looks like Sh*t, no self respecting web user would buy from a standard store. It needs to be heavily customized to be user friendly as well as SERPS friendly.

PhpBay Pro is great! Easy to use and wordpress compatible. Also please buy it, don't pirate it, it's well worth the money. Wade is tops for support and spends a lot of time coding new features!

Geez I'm gushing, but seriously, don't make the same BANS mistakes I did.

i'd like to try phpbay pro. somebody send it to me pleeez :)

not too impressed with bans. easy to get started but not very flexible, and the editor doesn't work in firefox, and it keeps logging you out every 2 minutes...

I like BANS i have a view sites with BANS doing nicely, BANS has a better structure for a niche store and i have WP aside to get traffic to my store so i have the best of both worlds

just curious, how do you use WP to get traffic to the bans site?

I was doing some more research in to this and found this Blog .

hxxp://w3.melissaeaton.c0m/general/why-use-phpbay-pro-with-wordpress-vs-bans/

To sum it up .

Bans - is good for people who just want to click and play. Version 3 will have more templates then V2. However its not that SEO happy and does require CSS modding.

PhPBay_pro - takes a little more to get up and running - however its search spiders like WP blogs and you have a wealth of templates to pick from.

I can see the use for both of these sites, However from my reading and the responses here I am going to go with PhpBay_pro.

Thank you all for your feed back!
Happy Black Hatting to you.

TM~

i would say, wp auction master... i've been using it and its great...

as a bans user who hasn't made that much, i'm considering going to phpbay. bans out of the box looks like shit on a stick and you really have to customize it. however wordpress has tons of themes out there and i'm more familiar with wordpress so i'm going that route. i'll be installing a phpbay store on an extra domain i'm not using. i plan to compare the 2 and see how they perform. my guess is that phpbay will kick bans' ass.

I have been using Bans and have acome across PHPBay pro. Not sure which one is the best but why should I buy PHPBay pro when I can use the eBay rss tool, convert it to HTML free of cost using feedburner and display on my website. Does PHPBay pro does anything else apart from this?

That's what I was thinking. But can you get your affiliate id in there?

Doe eBay generate RSS feed with your affiliate id?

just curious, how do you use WP to get traffic to the bans site?

The way i do it is as follows let say my niche is "ipod" i will setup the bans site on the root domain and a blog on a subdomain.

I will have a whole lot of PLR articles and RSS feed ready for content and of course it all will be automated there are enough tools on BHW to do that

Then i install the alink plugin (i think the creators site is offline so if you want the plugin, PM me) with that plugin you can link keywords in your blog posts, and what is do is i link to my categories pages so if i have let say as categories, "ipod, Ipod Nano, Ipod games" you get the idea

What i also do is getting the top 10/20 keywords and use the search feature to create even more pages in bans

Like the keyword is casing i will link it to http://www.mydomain.com/search/casing.

That is in short how i use WP to get traffic to my BANS sites, also there are of course the old fashion banners and text links in the sidebars :)

PhpBay pro by far is much easier than BANS in my opinion.

I believe it is no longer offered for d/l here on BHW, but why not just buy it? It's under $50, plus you get all the support you need from the creator in their forum if you hit any snags.

I think PHPBay 3.0 is a great tool... have more features than before.. good to try..

DaveNL, how can you make the search page? Is there any plugin I can use for? Thanks

I am not sure what your asking here but what i mean was the search function on the BANS site not the search function on the blog

Looks clear to me.
