How to get started on bitcoin

I am a newbie to bitcoin and I joined poloniex and coinbase group on telegram hoping to learn how to buy and sell btc but i was almost scammed... Some guys in the group asked me to give them my 12 phrase key of my trust wallet..I knew they wanted to scam me..
Please can anyone be kind enough to please help me and teach me about it briefly please.. I will be very very grateful.

Well since you joined poloniex. Why not youtube something along the lines of “how to trade on poloniex” after you get a hang of how things work then you can join a telegram signal channel assuming you want that route.

Bitcoin is very simple, each app comes with a wallet which you can backup by storing the words one after another.
remember to store the words very well as that is your wallet any time you reinstall the app or change phones you will need it

you can use wallet id to recieve payments and send to other wallet ids .

there is a send or recieve button inside the app which will do all the work

They gave me the code, but I don't know how to buy from their yet.

You can use Blockchain.com or crypto.com or bitpay.com
Next, meet a guy selling BTC in real life and buy from him. Or, buy from trusted person in a local group.

Thanks for your reply.. But unfortunately most of the guys around that do bitcoin are mostly scammers and I really want to go into btc thats why am looking for anyone who could help me get into it well..
I've already created my wallet using trust wallet App.. So I don't know what next to do..

Firstly, buy crypto from binance.

Usually I don't recommend this but keep your bitcoins in Binance as you're a noob and likely to get scammed if you take it out.

Join a good exchange, preferably one that is insured. I believe uphold is insured, have a look around and see what exchanges are insured by Bitgo. Once you have joined and exchange buying the BTC is pretty easy, every exchange will have an online guide on how to buy. Once you have bought it send it to your offline wallet and save it there until you want to spend it

I use Greenwallet and I've bought btc from Localbitcoins.com, I did my researches and everything was fine until now, after that I joined Binance and Bittrex.

1. check out Andreas Antonopolous on Youtube (he covers almost all questions, topics)

2. never send crypto, to ANYONE who promises to send you 2x back. Nothing in life is free.

3. Learn to use a cold storage wallet, Electrum, Trezor, etc.
