[Analyze this] "Channel Pages" YouTube Views statistics

this stuff is literally made out from shitlist materials, but i guess it doesn't really matter who sell this or where, we can just focus on the positive and analyze the traffic that get registered on YouTube Studio stats.

i can only say it was offered to me as "real views"... so let's analyze it together:

Playback location source shows "Channel Pages"

but since we used an UNLISTED video

this is not making any sense, UNLISTED videos are not listed on the channel page, so how can it be played there? hmmm interesting...

also if you try to click and drill down to see what was the channel it played on, you will not find anything registered there... not even your own channel page

and of course there aren't impressions and click-through-rate data as should be if those were real views that comes from youtube channel pages!

so those views are using fake referrer as they coming from the channel page on YouTube, when they actually don't... is this a real funnel of real views?


we went ahead and checked the average views per viewer - it's 1.8 average views per viewer, means they are recycling the same botnet IP's pool to "view" twice each video, so this isn't unique traffic, usually this just can't be happen with real traffic!

BTW, checking the unique views is the best method to determine if the traffic is recycled (botnet) or the source is real (on real ads traffic that factor will be 1.0-1.2 average views per viewer) , also that data for gender and age will not show on this type of fake traffic (even when you test it with public video) simply since there are no real users involved.

i believe that many resellers that resell those views as "real views" have never checked them by themselves, so if you check it for them, let them know (no need to open a shitlist ) just let them know that it's a wrong description, maybe they will fix it

bro, i know this method lol , idk if its maybe different scenario. but its very easy to do this method atleast based on what i know.
well if u have a comment bot then this is good idea, maybe u can sell views via this method damn. never thot of this haha.

if they have your video link, whether it is unlisted or not, if this provider is comment spamming, then he can get traffic to your video via that method, and also the traffic source will show channel pages.

you will get real organic views from that.

also if he is comment spamming he does not need to use ur vid links on his comments. he can do mother child method. where after he comment spams with his bot channel, there will be no vids on this bot channel of his, but he will just create playlist and add it to his homepage on comment bot channel. people who visit his channel via his spammed comments, will see ur unlisted video which is added to his playlist visible on his homepage.
like that he gets traffic to ur vid.
also the traffic sources will be channel pages.

this is similar to the method used by tom/todd, comical canadian etc.

but this method will probably be dead soon as yt is making updates due to these spammers abusing comments way toomuch.

I was just looking through one of my video and i can confirm there will be impressions if its from channel page views.

Also it will show from which channel the views are coming from. In my case most of them are from my own channel and couple of views from some other channel, dont know how other channels views came lol

Now we understand how to check if the views are real or fake... mainly look for the impressions.
and probably test it on any dummy accounts before we use it in our main channel...
I hope they will change these views from 'Real views' to 'Real Fake Views' in future

@LeeKrish79 thanks for your input, real traffic can come with no impression if it comes from outside of youtube, like direct traffic or browse feature traffic (like shares of youtu.be links) or external traffic (like when video is embed on other sites). but traffic that comes from youtube.com itself (like channel pages, home-page, YouTube search, suggested) that traffic will leave impressions if it's real.

well that is off topic, the problem with vidIQ and TubeBuddy is simple, those extensions will use your browser to do the search for the terms and get the positions, but as you know YouTube will show you different position of a video to different users, since you accessed the video before they may give you wrong reading (not wrong but it will be based on your cookies and account and IP location) even if you go incognito, still you get results that are based on your location and local language. you may see the video ranked #1, but only for you...

there are many tools for keyword research but there aren't any accurate tools since YouTube don't share the search volumes publicly (like they did in the past)
but you can use some of the tools to estimate and compare keywords.

keywordtool says they get the data from youtube autocomplete suggestions and also clickstream data (that's what they told me), there you can also select the youtube local version but i think that they just pull the data from
google adwords keyword planner API

i choose to do kw research on google adwords keyword tool, sometimes i get ideas from google trends and youtube auto-completion

basic rule to rank on YouTube - better rank many long-tail keywords, than fail to rank one high volume keyword!

Unlisted videos dont have the same stats for youtube that regular do, make it public and run these tests again, unlisted videos for example dont count watch hours

VidIQ is much more accurate then tubebuddy

Keywords everywhere is a good app as far as general keywords go, I use that and sometimes VidIQ
mainly you can find and use seo directly on youtube, when you type in a search such as "Corona virus", theres a drop down of searches that appear, in order they are the most searched keyword phrases, when I make a video I pick ones that are active and seo out my video with that

Excuse for being off topic but this is very critical for me as i want to start a last journey with Youtube after what i can call many times of failure.
I decided to be in the gaming niche & i am revealing the game " PUBG MOBILE " which is already very saturated on Youtube . the game came out in March 2018 and i am playing it since nearly day 1 of global release you can say i am pro at the game and seeing the content on youtube that gets tons of views i can make the same or even much better makes me motivated but when it comes to reality i get depressed because i can not rank any video because i can not get high impressions from Youtube.
Of course i am not targeting the main Keyword " PUBG MOBILE " i am trying to target long tailed keywords which i think have a lot of competition too.
and when i target long tailed keywords i get few amounts of impressions however my CTR is quiet good ranging between (10 - 18 ).
So it is very important to me to start with a good keyword that has a good search volume with a low competition so my channel can pop up easily.
Now i am thinking to make a high quality 5 minutes video and go for a discovery ads campaign for about 50$ to get some subs.( I read many threads that ads on youtube does not help to rank because of the low watch time).
I think if only one video goes viral it will give me a huge push from the beginning.
Or i will like to know if there is any other method that can i use and get better results than the ads.

Solid analyze, and the channel page referrer on an unlisted video was more than an evidence for the unclearness of those views.

sorry but as you must know i can't discussed that traffic here or to analyze it for you, but as mentioned above, real traffic can come with no impression if it comes from outside of youtube, like direct traffic or browse feature traffic (like shares of youtu.be links) or external traffic (like when video is embed on other sites), about performing that is another discussion that also can't be done here due to the BHW rules.

after EXACTLY 30 days,YouTube deleted 100% of those FAKE "Channel Pages" views, that was offered as "REAL Views" with lifetime guarantee...
so anyone that added those views 30 days ago or more, better check his views count (sometimes those views will drop only after an interaction such as like)

I'm confused by these channel views, so someone is spamming comments on another video and then his own channel its a playlist of videos? If people are actually clicking and watching wouldn't that be genuine views though or have I got this completely wrong? Sorry for my stupid question.
