Sudden drop after PBN link

So my site was staying at 60th position for months and I added 2 PBN links yesterday. Half of the kwds dropped 50 positions to 110th and this morning 8 hours later the rest of the kwds dropped as well the same 50 positions to 110th.

Is this normal? I know it might be a dance but I never had such huge movements like these before, usually it’s just a few positions.

I do not think, it can be because of 2 link. I am not sure though but still can 2 links be so toxic!!! I doubt. That too, within a day. Normally it takes a week for the link to make any impact

Besides, you can’t really tell much from the fact that you were ranking on the 60th position,

However, considering your lack of knowledge (as seen from this thread) I can only say that these links will end up harming your site, as they probably aren’t of the best quality.

Did you buy these links? If so, for how much?

Nope, I set them up, but they were 200RD domains, aged a year before linking. Keyword is 50k searches - $30 click B2B not an easy amazon niche. 40th position is still hard to achive, too bad there are no clicks from it.

Every site reacts differently to new inbound links. It's not unusual to see bouncing in the SERPs when new links are acquired. Also, right now you are in no man's land, so it's not unusual to see large fluctuations in the SERPs from other factors, such as the website being fairly new, the page is new(ish), new inbound links, etc.. Give it some time..I would suspect they will move even higher once they stabilize

This. I have never once seen negative effects/penalties from newly acquired links. Most algorithm updates that are off-page related concentrate on older links in a website's profile. Any loss in rankings from new links is 1) normal bouncing 2) pure coincidence.

Yeah I am a bit stressed since I paid about $500 per domain and I already used 4 so far :/

That's pretty bad.

Generally with good pbn links you won't see any drops at all. With on-page changes you will see drops before they go back up, but at most a good link will cause it to drop 2-5 spots if it's page 3+ or 1-2 spots page 2, and usually nothing more than a drop of 1 place if it's on page 1, before moving back up to a little above what it was no more than a week later, and this doesn't happen in all cases, only sometimes. NEVER should you see a drop of anything like that, and less so should you see that across your entire site. Something bad has happened here. Aggressive anchors can be responsible for a page dropping, but not usually from 2 links, and penguin is page level, not site level so it doesn't affect your entire site.

some PBNs make it easy for google to detect your site is buying/farming links and they punish immediately. depends on your setup.

The same logic is applied for datacenter proxies on Social media - make it easy to detect that you are a bot, ban.

Pbn links start to effect from 2 - 4 weeks, so this can’t be because of PBNs, you’ll have to wait for few days to check if you recovered or no

I don't think it can be because of two links, wait for few more days and also check with anchor text usage.

How many other backlinks do you have? 2 is pretty much nothing and if you have other links should not cause such drastic movement. But if you only had let's say 5 backlinks and just added 2 with aggressive anchors, that will be a different story.

It's Too Fast, It can't effect within 24 hours.

You better wait 1-2 weeks & observer...
