My website doesn't rank outside US, even though the keyword is low-comp.

Hi!
I have a problem.
I am ranking my website for a specific very low competition keyword. I was doing on-page SEO + doing web 2.0 link building.
After a few months, i managed to make it to page 1. I am constantly being on 2-3 places for this keyword, but only in US.
In other English-speaking countries, my website ranks ONLY for the name of the website, nothing else!

And the SERP for this keyword in other English speaking countries looks exactly the same as in US. The first page is taken by Pinterest boards, youtube playlist, one twitter account, shutterstock, and Tumblr blogs. But my website is not present there.

This situation lasts for 4 months already. I used to be in other countries SERP's too before, but 4 months ago my website disappeared.

My website is on the .com domain, it sells a digital product, it is not country-specific and my prospective clients are all around the globe.

I have been told to get some country-specific backlinks, but it is really hard to get decent backlinks from - .ca ; .au ; .uk TLD's.

Had anyone had that kind of problem?

Have you tried offering guest posts on .ca, .com.au, .co.uk blogs? (Both free and paid)

Is the product searched for outside of US? I have UK sites that only have US backlinks, and they still rank in google.co.uk no problem

Yes, i promote my website on social media and that's why it is known not only in US. I have clients and visitors from all around the globe, not only in English speaking countries. But my website ranks only in US.

Register your business on Google Places

My website is selling a digital product. How can it be registered in google places if it does not have a physical presence anywhere? Is it possible to register a website like BHW in google places?

----
I have a guess about the reasons of this.
In my hreflang metatag, i have en-US value. May it be the problem? Should i change to just "en"?

Update:

I bought a decent amount of PBN links from BHW Marketplace + Forum links from CrowdoLinks.
The DA of my website is 12.

I am still ranking ONLY in USA, not a single click from Uk, Australia, Canada, Germany or any other decent country (even though my website can be found from those countries if the customers googles the name of my website directly).

I have a very low competition keyword, only Pinterest, Tumblr, Youtube Playlists and stuff like that are located on the page with SERP with me.
Here is the screenshot from Google Search Console on my top volume keyword. Yes, there are clicks from Syria and Colombia, but these countries are pointless for me. What could be the problem?

Btw, in this thread, someone advised me to get some links from .uk .au and .ca TLDs. I made a thread in I Want To Buy Section but nobody offers that kind of service here.
The problem is definitely now in the absence the links from these TLDs. Many websites rank everywhere for the English keywords without having the backlinks from many different country-specific TLDs

Did anybody hear about something similar to my case?
I am desperate to find the solution to it.

You can try adding country specified keywords and unique languages if you are planning to rank on non english countries.

I've experienced several time this issue.

What to say... Nothing.

And I've tried everything.

From backlinks from specific country (based on server IP and domain ccTLDs) to set the international targeting in GSC.

After 9 months results 0.

You can not change HOW google wants to presents / rank your site.

If some guru has a non conventional answer will be very appreciated.

PS: my issue are on amazing domains (>10 years old, DR > 50 just to mention a metric)

This is quite odd. Any update OP?

No, still the same. I don't receive ANY search traffic from other countries (except navigational queries with the name of my website). All my non-branded traffic goes from the US only.

Now i am planning to get some backlinks from the forums that are located on .ca .uk and .au TLD since it impossible to buy any blog links from these domains here.

I have another strange thing with my website. I explained it in this forum thread - https://www.blackhatworld.com/posts/13470252/

Long story short: My website is English only, I am targeting English speaking countries. BUT i receive more traffic from Yandex then from Google. All the visitors from Yandex are Russian and some of them even convert and buy stuff from me. I don't have ANY backlings from Russian websites, don't have any Russian content there at all. They are finding my website when they are typing different keywords in English. This is very strange!

Now i have 300 daily search clicks from Google (200 of them are navigational)
And 400 daily clicks from Yandex (only 10-15 from them are navigational).
Yandex is much smaller than Google, only Russians use it, but it gives more traffic than Google... this is very strange and weird.
