So I have a personal struggle to acquire a gaming pc since 2010. I got denied once and I was too afraid of asking my parents for one. Ever since then there is this burning sensation to get one but I never got the opportunity to buy one. Now I finally have the chance but the thing is tho I would sacrifice at least 3 months of SEO and content for my current website I'm working at. Do you guys think I should go for it? Of course I'm not using it only for gaming but also trying to finally breach out to video editing and rendering which have been long passion of mine but I never got to work on it smoothly until I get a good pc.

Its been 10 years, why not get a PC... it will help you out in the long run.

If you are going to be using it for more than gaming like you said, it sounds like a good investment to me.

You would sacrifice at least 3 months of SEO/content? Why not just do some of it yourself? I'm assuming you hire others to do the work.

My rule is, if I can’t buy 5 then I can’t afford 1

come on man! this guys life isn't that tough to apply theory on this position.

If you like to spend hours on gaming which only gives you a mild satisfaction, get a gaming pc and play games. you can also use complicated tools on it. It is also an advantage.

If you like to step up your seo game, invest on a website or websites.

How much are you making now? I would suggest that you get some money first, then maybe you can treat yourself. For me, before I didn't have a phone, either a good laptop and I did my best to work with that laptop till I started making x2 + the worth of the laptop I wanted to buy then finally decided to get it. Good thing that you find it hard to ask your parents it's a sign of responsibility.

If you have enough money that you can buy a gaming pc, then go ahead and get a one.

But if you don't have money or if you think that if you buy a pc then all your money will get away. Then I will suggest start saving some money from your earning.

I got my custom pc in 2019 from my own earning. But I waited almost two years.

Seems its mostly just up to if you want to continue working on what you've got going currently or move onto something new.
Personally I would stick it through till its at least worth more and then sell.

Have you gotten any other computer in the last 10 years that just isn't a gaming PC or is the last time you got a new computer over 10 years ago? If you have, have you looked into just upgrading the GPU (assuming the CPU is new enough) so you can play your games on your current computer more smoothly? If you haven't gotten a new one in the last 10 years I would go for it, personally I wouldn't be able to do any of the stuff I do on my laptop (programming related) on a 10+ year old computer.

At first I work my ass off with old computer to get 3000 dollar and I spend 1600 dollar to buy new computer and never regret it since I can make money around 10 k after that. It like buy the gift for yourself while using it for the work. It make my work become much easier and faster and even motivate myself to work too. You will have so much energy to work when you bought it.
