Didn't WHM/Cpanel add an automatic renew / update few months ago that does this if you use the open ssl? Could have been further back than that - am sure I saw it in the update notes / when I was asked to update the server OF course all depends if you have access to that I guess..

I am not sure. I only use unmanaged VPSes without any particular panel, and I do everything (including virtual host configs) by hand. I like how flexible and minimal it is. That being said, If LAMP/LEMP and SSL installation could be automated, it will save a lot of time; while you still have that flexibility.

even certbot --renew could be automated using crontab, anyway.
