Is GMB reqUired for rent and rank?

I have a potential twist in mind that I will share with BHW down the line but I just need to confirm that rent and rank is still possible without GMB? Also any guides would be much appreciated

It is indeed possible.

The whole idea of a “rank and rent” is to (as the name implies) rank a website and then rent it.

While you do not need a GMB listing to rank a local website it really does help in doing so.

You should also consider building citations from different websites (such as Yelp, Yahoo, YellowPages and other) to help your local website rank faster.

For YouTube, the only channels I can think of right now that might help you get started are, "Ruan M. Marinho" (for local SEO) and "Matt Wacek" or "iampauljames" (for building rank and rent sites).

In addition to that, reading over the Local SEO threads in BHW will sure help you out too. GL!
