Gutenberg vs Classic editor - What's your take?

I personally like the classic editor since it makes my job more easier, I just think Gutenberg isn't user-friendly at all.

Reading all these answers; I wonder who the Gutenberg actually is aimed for?

For me it was just time-consuming, it took far more clicks to make a thing that takes 2 clicks with Classic.

Considering where technology is today and how big Wordpress is, I'm surprised at how bad Gutenberg is. It's not user-friendly nor effective at all..

I can't even imagine new users, like teenage bloggers, finding Gutenberg more useful than classic.

The only one I could see finding Gutenberg better, are people who mainly upload pictures rather than texts.

Minimizing the plugin is always a good idea, agreed. However, this particular plugin shouldn't affect the frontend atall. Don't quote me on this, but I am almost sure they have is_admin() check before loading (loading as in modifying the html output of the post editor page, as well as loading the JS resources) the plugin to check that it is the wp backend. The function/class would probably still be loaded in your RAM, but that's negligible compared to what people normally use for the wp projects. ;)

Yep 100% confirm, doesn't effect your front-end. If it does, something is very wrong with your theme haha.

Classic all the way! I think we do over 150 posts a day. Gutenberg is way to slow to make that possible. As it currently stands, if Wordpress wants to force us to use Gutenberg. I will just move CMS.

It's another vote for the classic editor from me. Why anyone would use something that slows down productivity like Gutenberg is beyond me.

Both, Gutenberg is good for How-to post

Damn this is interesting. I prefer Gutenburg because it seems way more intuitive to me. I love all the blocks and I don’t see how it slows anyone down but maybe thats just me. I usually copy paste my stuff from google docs into gutenburg and it saves all my headings and stuff so its a god send.

I thought only a few people would hate the Gutenberg, I guess a lot of others like the Classic better as well. I figured I was missing something that made it easier and better but it just plain sucks lol

They did it to compete with the other popular website builders: Wix, Squarespace.

While for IMer like us, Gutenberg is almost wasting time, but for those newbies, new business owners, mama and papa never touched internet, those never built a website, a more modern and intuitive editor like Gutenberg is a must, all in all, they want to gain the market share!

At the same time, Wix and Squarespace already implemented the feature for years. So wordpress had to do this move, it is not a non-profit, in the end of the day.

Btw, Gutenberg slowly added more functions like website builders Elementor, Beaver, you may like it after some versions!

I am using the Classic and loving it.. Tried to change to Gutenberg, but never impressed me.

Wait folks.

Don't be quick to judge. There must be a reason behind this paradigm shift, patience we must.

I think Gutenberg is absolute garbage, don't know why they feature it.

From my own experience, I would recommend using Gutenberg since personally I prefer it better.

People claim that it is complicated, but actually it is simple. You just have to invest a couple of hours to read their documentation :)
