Gutenberg vs Classic editor - What's your take?

I've been ignoring Gutenberg for a long time. I tried it once and didn't like it, so I got classic editor on all my sites.

On one of my latest projects I decided to try Gutenberg - and it's worse than I thought.

If I have an article in Microsoft Word, do I really have to create a new block for each headline and text? If I want a small headline in the middle of a text, do I really need to create 3 blocks and chop it all up?

I don't know if I'm missing something essential, but the classic editor is hella more effective imo.

Are you guys using Gutenberg or classic editor?

Classic editor. Gutenberg editor is shit. I don't understand why wp did this to their users. :/

I use both. Gutenberg is a pain, but you cannot ignore WP versions 5.xx forever.
Classic is simple, Gutenberg hopefully they debug it ultimately.

You don't have to. There's a plugin to enable Classic editor. In case the plugin ever becomes obsolete, I would rather make my own classic editor plugin than using the gutenberg shit.

Oh wow, I was expecting 1 out of 10 would be using classic editor.

I'm glad, then I guess I didn't miss anything vital - the tool is very time consuming.

Minimizing the plugin is always a good idea, agreed. However, this particular plugin shouldn't affect the frontend atall. Don't quote me on this, but I am almost sure they have is_admin() check before loading (loading as in modifying the html output of the post editor page, as well as loading the JS resources) the plugin to check that it is the wp backend. The function/class would probably still be loaded in your RAM, but that's negligible compared to what people normally use for the wp projects.

I find it ok, i have it on sites, I was a bit wary about it at first, and I still have classic on some sites, but when I copy and paste from google documents, and insert links and images, everything is easy enough.

I am also one of change resistant type of person. I am using classic editor on all my websites unless Gutenberg is mature enough to replace it.
