Do you see movement from profile link style backlinks?

I see a lot of people sharing profile style backlink sources here and while it's great we have such a generous community I'm curious what results people get from these styles of backlinks.

So do you use them boost your rankings?

Or do you simply use them for diversity and don't expect any gain in rank from them?

Diversity is the term that needs to be studied further IMO. Because for Ranking, you need Diversity. So a backlink obtained for diversity is also for ranking

What exactly is diversity?

If diversity in this context is exactly what it means, then it won't help one rank, only good for those using PBNs and some shady links to make their backlink profile look 'natural'

Simply to avoid penalty, avoiding penalty is not the same as ranking high in the SERP.

I guess, with recent saying from some google guy profile backlinks are not good and that effective. So, using few% of ******** links for diversity.

I ordered a few gigs here for profile links and didn't see much movement. So I voted no.

Hello no! From my experience, profile links do not increase site ranking or value.

Interestingly using those didn't help any of my new pages from a decent 2 month old website to rank.

But my 8 month old website whose keywords were stuck on 7th 8th pages are now in either in top 10 or on top of 2nd pages of Google searches.

Not a single backlink was sent to those pages earlier in 8 months & the anchors used were 30% naked url & 70% exact matches.

I guess I've got lucky.
Need to test it further

Profile links are are camouflage links, and should be part of one’s portfolio thry alone cant get you ranked but havjng them in the portfolio is a good idea

profile links used only for diversity. Simply it won't give any kind of hype in the ranking. But at the same time, we can't say it is useless. It will act as an additional positive signal.

They do not increase rankings, but for sure they help you avoid anchor overoptimization and build brand value by getting a naked achor text backlink.

None of these links shows on my search console so i guess google ignore them
