Homepage Outranking Inner Page - Major Traffic Issues

Aaaaagghhhhh!! I am getting worn out by all of these weird issues by my site. Traffic started downward towards the middle of last year. I started publishing more and more content to build traffic and it peaked around 600 visitors/day in Aug/Sept 2019. It has slowly gone downhill since then. I am not publishing content nearly as rapidly as I was in 2018, but I still publish 3-5 articles monthly. Currently have ~70 pieces of content on the site.

I feel like there is something "technically" wrong with my site. Earlier this year, I tried to speed up my site because I thought that was part of the issue? I moved onto Cloudflare (CDN) and started using ShortPixel for all of my image optimization. Nothing has helped, in fact I'm still tanking.

Today, I searched for a keyword that I've been in position 3-5 for 3 months...now my HOMEPAGE shows up in position 7, but my actual post is GONE.

What in the world could cause something like that?

Also, when I go into AHREFS and check out which keywords I'm ranking for, it shows that some of the pages (majority) are SSL/https versions, but there are several pages that are non-https that are ranking. Upon further investigation, it appears the non-https keep switching places with the https for some keywords.

Everything redirects to HTTPS.

Just my question mate.

Have you targeted the same bunch of keywords on the Homepage and inner pages?

Also for https pages, can you please check with the canonical tag? I think it may have the canonical URL without SSL.

Do you have any "issue" showing up in the search console?

Install easy ssl and that will force the SSL version
You most likely ranked with the non SSL version and it is set to redirect to homepage if somebody accesses the non SSL version

I'm not really sure where to look, I just know that I don't have any manual penalties.
