Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone shed any light on changing the delay in scrapebox on the mac.

If I go Settings> Harvester Engines Configuration> Google > Change the delay>Update, I get an error 'loading bitmap failed' which renders the program useless. I have to reinstall and varify account.

Can anyone help with a fix?

Cheers

Did you try kicking your machine?

Probably won't help, but I find it to be therapeutic. hehe :D

Just kidding of course

Anyway the issue is that something on your mac is inserting bad data in the engines.dat file. The engines file contains a base64 encoding of the little icons you see in scrapebox next to each engine and if that gets fouled up it won't render and hence the error.

Actually I know all of this because scrapebox added handling for it in the most recent version of Scrapebox for mac. So if you update to the .86 then it has handling to find any bad data that gets inserted and get rid of the bad data hence fixing the error.

You may need to download the latest version and it may overwrite in your downloads folder, you can look at the time stamp and then just install it over top of the current scrapebox and it will overwrite and all will be well.

That said of course, do this with scrapebox shut down.

And if you do decide to kick your machine I would recommend wearing a shin guard. lol

Cheers!

@loopline Scrapebox not working macOS Catalina, please fix it.
As noted by @proxygo I don't work for scrapebox.

But here is a copy and paste of the email about it from scrapebox support:

"
Unfortunately ScrapeBox is not going to work with Catalina at this time. Apple changed all sorts of things in Catalina, especially in relation to SSL dlls etc..

For example we made a brand new test project that does a single GET to a URL, it's causing the project to just vanish when it's http and causing an error when it's https.

And this is a blank project, a button on a form doing a GET... You can't get anymore simple and free of bugs. Scrapebox is written in Firemonkey, which is basically Delphi for mac, a programming language. Embarcadero is the company that owns and creates Delphi and the compilers. Embarcadero has said support for Catalina will be in Compiler 10.3.3 so until that's released our hands are completely tied.

I do not have any kind of ETA at this time as we are waiting entirely on Embarcadero. However of course whenever you see an update for Scrapebox please update. Else you could roll back to a prior version of mac for the time being. "

Try downloading the new mac version. Its V 2.1.x

Something is messing up one of the bitmap files that is in the vanity plugin, its something on your mac or in your network. But I know that they built in some work arounds for a few other users who also had issues.

I recently bought the Email Premium Plugin and the same error happens on version 2.1.18: "Loading Bitmap Failed". Any suggestion? Thanks!

You can try and contact support, but basically there are small icons/images that load in scrapebox and something 3rd party on your machine or in the display drivers is altering or messing with the files causing them not to load.

so you can try downloading a fresh copy of the plugin and you can try and see if it works then, but before you do that you may want to add an exception in all security software for the entire scrapebox folder.

Thank you. I deleted and re-installed everything (both app and user files) a few times until it worked!

Hey guys, do you know where I can find the error log on Mac version? It is not on the package, neither on the installed folder, there is nowhere to find it on the menus ...

I am getting errors on search engines results but I can't know what those error means. Thanks.

If you go to finder and choose this mac and search scrapebox, inside that is an error log folder and error logs in other respective folders, under the scrapebox folder.
