More demand for Adspace in those niche is the reason. People don't want to wait to get in first page doing seo.

Maybe all of us on bhw should contribute to build a real alternative to google
Oops : No way, we'd go back to the old times : scrapebox / gsa to rank
But hopefully some others good engines should rise ...
To make this thread helpfull :
- Which search engine might or should be the 1st in the future ?
- What would happen if all bhw members incite their users to go for it ?
Might not be a giant step but everything begins small
In my pov projects such as https://www.lilo.org (In french sorry) are promising ... But I haven't switched to that as (sadly) google is almighty ...
Edit : It's sad too see how things are going BUT everyone who have been in IM or internet in general for the past 20 years has been promoting google at least one time (and probably way, WAY, more than that) ... So it's just time to pay the consequences ...That's just insane to think we helped them to rise for nothing (or adsense pocket money in the best cases) ... But, let's face it, google is just the most relevant search engine in these days (even with all this bullshit) ... And if you add their "android" superpower on top of that, let's say they'll rule the web for a long time ...

Is it really "an evil empire" because all it thinks about is personal benefit though?
If your IM efforts brought in $1k/day, would you seriously start thinking about other than your own benefit? (In terms of IM success) No you wouldn't.

I won't stop doing SEO for myself.
I've been adapting and changing older content and it has been ranking nicely lately.
Because of all this mess up, it has made me go back and change older stuff to be more recent. If anything it is helping me grow better as I am updating everything I am doing to be more quality orientated and my ranks are showing for that in a positive way.
While I do agree that the algorithm updates are annoying to deal with, I find it is getting rid of the weaker folks who don't put the proper effort into this and complain when their content sucks.
Just step your game up. Deal with it for now and keep working at it. This is where people give up and then they wonder why they never get anything in life.
