I've been using Express VPN on my Mac and IPhone, I pay around $12 a month which I think its too high for such thing! I do like it but it not always easy to have it work right, sometimes I need to keep clicking it on and off to have it work. I have ESET Cyber Security as well (thanks for the recommendations from here, it's perfect!)
Anyway, please post your recommendations for VPN and their prices, please do not post advertising. Need one that works for a laptop and Iphone at the same time with same monthly payment. Must have 14-30 days free trial, LOL.

I don't use a VPN at this moment, but i never paid for a vpn service. I used to buy a vps with ssd and install openvpn on it do all the settings not to save logs and done :)
OVH has a vps package of around 3$ with ssd 2gb ram and 1 core, it should be more than enough :)

NordVPN $5/month with coupon. Always on. They have 30 days trial.

There are a couple of Chrome store free ones.

Thank you, but I'm not like you, I don't have the experience of the time to play with settings and chase freebies, I want something that works all the time

Time? About 1-2 hours for a beginner
Experience? Not needed, just a google search is enough

https://community.nomadgate.com/t/disabling-all-logs-in-openvpn-dedicated-server-client/20589/5

Consider the fact that with these VPN services you are not the only one using that server, while with your own vpn you're the only user :)
You will also save some money, since a vps is cheaper than an vpn service.

At the end of the day is all down to your choice, but personally i wouldn't use any vpn service if i needed to, i would just make my own from a vps :)

Cheers

I never used TCP, just UDP and using it daily i never had any trouble, youtube videos and websites were loading blazing fast (even faster than without vpn).
The vps server i had was in the UK and since i'm also from Europe, it was not a really big distance, it could've been slower if i had a server in USA or CA.

Oh okay, cool..

So I checked the link you posted regarding disabling the logs of the openvpn, are the below config the only thing you need to set for it ?

verb 0 log /dev/null status /dev/null

At the time i used that vpn, i had a very complex script to completely disable any loggings not only from openvpn but from the linux itself, i will try to find it again and post it here since there are so many people interested :)

Regarding that config, you need to put into the config file of your openvpn client and also of the openvpn on your server.

Thanks, I will be glad if you can post the script here.

Avoid NordVPN at all costs.

My personal favorite is ExpressVPN, however Windscribe, AirVPN and Mullvad are also good.

why are you paying monthly for a VPN? Yearly/6-month subscriptions are way better and cheaper.

You’re only getting one location AKA one IP right?

Yes.
My suggestion was for daily browsing, if you need to create accounts/emails/etc.. then private proxies or vpn service is better.

ExpressVPN isn't that good, many sites can detect their servers located in Holand. I was trying to watch a show on 10play connected from AU server and 10play wouldn't let me as they detected the European server I was using. I spoke with their support and they admitted that it was an issue on the side and not every location is set up as it should. So I have canceled my subscription as for the price they charge one would expect a better service.

My experience with NordVPN is good till now. Speed is fast and cheap if you buy 2-3 years of subscription.
