BHW 2.0 coming in 2020

It seems like the BHW beta testing is closing in few hours and I absolutely had a great time testing out the features.

Old BHW VS New BHW

Design + Layout:

The new layout of BHW 2.0 is definitely more appealing than the old one. Not gonna lie, the old one always looked like a site that was made between 2010-15, however this new one looks more new and fits in the modern theme, either way it's 2020.

Although, sometimes I feel like things are too close. Like in this version of BHW, the container which displays recent threads is a bit far away. However, in the new version of BHW it's too close in my opinion (I am using Chrome), if the "latest posts" could be a bit far away like the old one, then I guess it would look much better? The same applies to the profile page in BHW 2.0, perhaps it could be zoomed out a bit as well and maybe the profile comments could perhaps be a bit small.

There is also one bug where it keeps asking me to enable push notifications even if I have enabled it before, not sure if it's because of my browser but that is a bug I am experiencing right now.

User friendliness:

BHW 2.0 is definitely much user friendly and better than the old BHW as things now load instantly and you don't have to refresh things anymore as elements load instantly as soon as you click them. I also like the fact that you can now choose which section you want to post your thread in, and navigate each and every section easily, maybe a search bar could be added to find the section you are looking for, instead of scrolling down?

Not sure if this a bug or not, but some sections have a space before the text:



EDIT: Apparently these spaces are sub-categories, perhaps there could be a better way of displaying sub-categories?

My Overall opinion

They have definitely done a great job revamping the whole forum and giving it a new look. I like the way BHW 2.0 runs now, and it's also very fast than the old BHW.

It is not a bug the 3 categories are sub categories of the affiliate programs forum

The "facebook" like button looks odd and misfit IMO.

But the 2.0 is faster, that's what I noticed the most.

Haven't had a lot of time to spend on the new beta but from what I've seen so far it does look like a nice improvement.

Things seem to be spaced out better so it has a less cluttered feel. Overall a better user experience imo.

I'm happy to announce that we will be running the long-awaited upgrade to BHW 2.0 on Monday 29th June from circa 6am BST. It's a major upgrade and as such we've reserved a 12-hour block to complete this upgrade. Going forward the upgrades will be relatively minor and as such we don't expect to require such a long period of downtime again in the near future.

BHW in it's current form will be in read-only mode for the duration of the upgrade. Any content added before we switch to read-only will be restored before we go live again.
Please note ANY changes made during the 12 hour upgrade period will be reversed.

We've focussed on maintaining all the functionality that you know and love from the current site with a completely new set of code under the hood. There will be frequent upgrades and updates going forward based on the submissions in the Forum Suggestions and Feedback section and exposing new core functionality.
