There are many hidden links in the backlink of the competitor who ranks number one. Please take a look at the example below.

Hidden in the same rgb as the background color.
<span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><a href="domain.com" target="_blank" title="anchor">

Are backlinks that hide the same color as background color punished by Google?

I do not know what purpose this serves.

If you are hiding links, it means they are just inserting links without any context. I mean surrounding text does not make any sense.

Not recommend to use hidden Link.

You have to think that your competitors will not come check manually about your links.

You can not hide it from those backlinks analysis tools.

There is no use, only risk of getting penalize

Jumping on luck and challenging Google is not good practice. Don't do hidden links, Google is strict about it and once uncovered you get a penalty of life!

It's not good practice. Better not to try this you may receive penalty at any time.

Not good if you are looking for long term plan
I have no intention of taking risks. I was just wondering if these backlinks were getting instant penalties.
That type of hidden backlink trickes the user's eyes, but normally scores in places like Ahref and Majestic. I wonder if Google is smarter.

Google is smart enough. Not recommended in my opinion.

Google crawls and sooner or later it penalizes such sites, Cloakers maybe helping him but not for very long.

Wow it's like the year 2002 all over again.

Yes this will get a penalty if they find it.

Spam link sites that were previously penalized have recently returned to page 1.
I think Google is joining the retro craze.
